2025 Wolferton Stakes Preview

Run on the opening day at the Royal Ascot festival, the Wolferton Stakes is a listed race established in 2002.

Open to runners aged four years old or older, the race is run over just shy of one mile and two furlongs (1m1f 212y).

The race was originally added to Royal Ascot when the festival was extended to five days and was a handicap race.

In 2018, the race was moved to the opening day and was no longer a handicap race, meaning since 2018 it has been a listed race.

No previous Group 1-2 winners are allowed to enter with Listed (3lb) and Group 3 (5lb) winners getting penalties whilst fillies get a 5lb allowance.
