2025 Ribblesdale Stakes Preview

Established in 1919, the Ribblesdale Stakes is a Group 2 race open to three-year-old fillies and is run at Royal Ascot each year in June.

The race is run over just shy of one mile and four furlongs (1m3f211yds) in which the previous Group 1 winners get a 3lb penalty.

This race is directly linked to both the Epsom and Irish Oaks, watch out for Epsom Oaks runners coming here, seven of those in recent years have won this race.

Also, be sure to keep an eye on runners progressing to the Irish Oaks, this race has provided eleven winners of that race including Bracelet in 2014.

Ribblesdale Stakes Information:

To see which runners the OLBG racing tipsters are tipping throughout the card that includes this race, head over to the Royal Ascot tips on the day of the race, do they agree with the runners on the trend shortlist or are they predicting other runners? We cover every race at Royal Ascot and below you can find links to all of the races for each of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. In addition to those, we also cover numerous races at Ascot during the flat season, you can find links to those here.

How competitive is the Ribblesdale Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2022 when the race had an over-round of 112%. The race in 2016 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 127%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Ribblesdale Stakes, the over-round has been 119%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £119 which is bet.

Ribblesdale Stakes Trends:

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? From the past 20 if you had followed the winner of the Ribblesdale Stakes next time out then you would have backed a total of 3 winners. Backing all 19 runners who have been out since to win at SP next time out, would have returned an LSP of -1.25. Remember to use the racing predictions along with the information on this page to find a bet on the 2025 Ribblesdale Stakes.

The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2016 renewal when Even Song from A P O'Brien under the guidance of Ryan Moore, won in a time of 2:39.74, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Magic Wand, trained by A P O'Brien and ridden by Ryan Moore set the quickest time of 2:28.52 in the 2018 renewal.
