How competitive is the Epsom Oaks market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2023 when the race had an over-round of 103%. The race in 2008 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 132%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Epsom Oaks, the over-round has been 119%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £119 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2026 Epsom Oaks Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Epsom Oaks Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Epsom Oaks races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Love (2:34.06) in 2020
  2. Enable (2:34.13) in 2017
  3. Taghrooda (2:34.89) in 2014

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Epsom Oaks next time out, then you would have backed a total of 8 winners. Backing all 18 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -0.14. Before placing your bet on the 2026 Epsom Oaks, see which other runners today are being backed on the racing predictions page.

The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2021 renewal when Snowfall from A P O'Brien under the guidance of Frankie Dettori, won in a time of 2:42.67, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Love, trained by A P O'Brien and ridden by Ryan Moore set the quickest time of 2:34.06 in the 2020 renewal.

What the expert says...
A lot of the Oaks winners will head over to Ireland to run in their equivalent about a month later. Between 2006 and 2023, nine have done just that, with five of those going on to complete the Oaks double, Snowfall (2021) being the last to achieve this.
