With the OLBG Racing Club you pay nothing towards the purchase of horses. They are owned by the club, you just enjoy the benefits.
But that doesn't mean you will be following cheap horses. OLBG invested significantly in horses to get the club started and any prize money they win goes towards new purchases.
We are delighted to have bought a lovely daughter of Crystal Ocean, Lot 610 at the Goffs Doncaster Sale on 21 May 2026.
She won on debut in a bumper at Newton Abbot in May, running very green but getting the job done nicely in the closing stages and suggesting there is improvement to come.

Her dam has now produced six winners, including the black-type mare River Arrow. Newbridge is 50% GBB qualified which means she will be able to run for bonuses of up to £50,000 during her career.
Richard, Ed and Harry were keen to secure her for the OLBG Racing Club and saw off bidders including Dan Skelton before the hammer eventually fell at £50,000.
She will now head to Ed Bailey's farm and OLBG Racing Club members will visit her in early June.
Hopefully she can provide us all with plenty of exciting days out as we see how far she can progress.
We purchased "Polly" at the British National Hunt Breeders showcase in November 2024 at a cost of £62,000. A lot of money for a NH foal. We believe she is probably the best bred British Filly Foal of 2024. By Derby and Arc winning sire Golden Horn, out of Arkle and Queen Mother winning mare Put The Kettle On, that breeding will take some beating.
Polly is living with our bloodstock agent Ed Bailey on his farm in Herefordshire. She was broken in as a late yearling and is mixing periods of development with rest during her 2 year old season. Polly has taken to jumping brilliantly.
This is a fantastic opportunity for us all to learn even more about National Hunt horses and dream that one day she can perform on the racecourse at a level to honour her incredible breeding.

Viyanni was bought privately from The Aga Khan for six figure sum. He was days away from giving us our dream of having a Cheltenham Festival Runner when sadly a small niggle meant he had to miss the Fred Winter (for which he was one of the first few in the betting).
"He is a beautiful boy with great quality, a beautiful walk and in my opinion has the look of a high class jumper. Over the years I have seen a lot of Aga Khan bred horses do well over jumps, none more so than Zarkandar who Paul (Nicholls) did so well with." Harry Derham
We are looking forward to this season with Viyanni. The plan is to start him on the flat for a late turf campaign before going back over hurdles.

On joining we will order your a free race day scarf. Then you can look forward to;

"Have just received my scarf today, very exciting, hopefully use it soon when one of the horses runs. Loving being part of OLBG." Pauline G
"Have probably had a years fee of value so far with stable visit and Newbury races in the box with lunch." Mark W
"I do enjoy reading the weekly newsletter" Claire B
"What an exciting opportunity to be involved and help support a young trainer who is already showing that he will be a force to be reckoned with." Nigel H
"I would just like to say thank you for a great day at Newbury Racecourse yesterday. The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly and the location of the OLBG table was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the other 5 lucky guests of OLBG." David H

A horse racing club is a great value way to follow horses in training, gain opportunities to enjoy amazing experiences and enjoy the social benefits of meeting like minded people.
In our experience, horse racing clubs can offer great value. Because members of the club do not have any ownership rights in the clubs horses, they also do not have any up front costs, long term commitments or surprise extras to pay.
All horse racing clubs differ slightly. For example, with the OLBG Racing Club there are a number of benefits that we can offer through our Harry Derham, Ed Bailey, Paul O'Brien and OLBG Owners Club partnerships that other clubs can't offer. Combining all of this with our amazing horses gives you the best National Hunt Racing club you can find.

"It’s been fantastic so far and the future looks bright, some great people involved. Keep up the great work" Ian P
Richard Moffat and Invendium Limited (T/as OLBG) are the Racing Club managers for the OLBG Racing Club. Richard bought his first share in a racehorse over 20 years ago, a relation to Shergar trained by Walter Swinburn (who rode Shergar to victory in the 1981 Derby). Richard is the CEO of Invendium Limited T/As OLBG, a registered owner with the BHA, a member of the ROA and the Racehorse Syndicates Association. The OLBG Racing Club has been approved by the BHA and follows the BHA Racing Club code of conduct. Richard Moffat became one of the first people to be issued by the BHA with a Licence to Manage Syndicates & Racing Clubs when the new licensing came into force from January 1st 2025.

"A fab evening and huge thanks to you, Richard, Ed and all of Harry's team for all your hard work and enthusiasm. Top class." Sarah T
Joining a national hunt horse racing club is for enjoyment. With a racing club you do not hold any ownership rights in the racing clubs horses and have no opportunity to receive a financial return. You should very much view your membership as a purchase for entertainment.

"A great Club and community to be a part of" Marie
We very much hope to run this racing club long term and hope that it will grow over the coming years.

"The club is well worth every penny." Suzanne B
We want to maintain the special feeling of a small, friendly community which our amazing members have grown. Therefore we will manage the numbers carefully - as and when we feel appropriate we will close membership and create a waiting list.
The low ratio of members to horses we have gives everyone a good opportunity to join us on stable visits and a realistic chance of obtaining an owners badge during the season.
Out of those members who have applied for an owners badge on more than one occasion, 99% have been successful at least once. Many of our members have already enjoyed multiple days out watching our horses or enjoying other events and hospitality.
We are building a nice, friendly community where members get to know each other and make friends.

"The Newbury hospitality was really good. Well done OLBG on a great day out." Hilary C
You can cancel at any time, the only amount you will be liable for is the membership cost you agreed to when you joined. You have no rights to sell, lease, transfer or assign your membership. Once you have cancelled if you change your mind and want to come back in, you will need to join the waiting list.

"The personalised experience and content you deliver is one of a kind" Becky P
All prize money won by the clubs horses will be retained by the club to help cover race day costs and the growth of the club, including purchasing new horses. The more successful our horses are, the more we can spend on growing our club and the more benefits our members will enjoy.

"Saturday was a fantastic experience thank you; I thoroughly enjoyed myself and met some really good, like-minded people." Mike N
The Racing Club managers in consultation with Harry Derham will make decisions with regards the management, training and sale of the clubs horses. The health and welfare of horses in our ownership is our absolute priority.

"Really enjoying the OLBG Club experience so far - thank you." Martin B
We follow the BHA Racing Club Code of Conduct. Please contact us via the contact form link at the bottom of this page with details of your dispute and we will do our best to reach a satisfactory conclusion. If we are unable to come to a satisfactory conclusion between us we would happily discuss with the BHA who oversee the regulation of racing clubs.

"Thank you OLBG and Harry again for great evening." Fiona K
We always work hard to maximise the number of parade ring badges available and our members have had fantastic success so far with 99% of our members (who have applied more than once), successfully receiving at least one parade ring badge.
We will keep the ratio of members to horses at a level where you do have a reasonable chance of receiving a badge, but you shouldn't be joining a racing club with the primary aim of gaining paddock badges. There is so much more to gain from the experience.
We hope you will come and watch the clubs horses at the racecourse regardless of if you win a paddock badge and view that only as a possible bonus. We will always look for ways to help members meet up at the courses so you can have an enjoyable social experience whether you get to stand inside or outside of the parade ring.

"So loving the racing club" Lorraine P
Whilst we will get access to high quality content to make it feel like we are actually at the yard, visiting it in person is a truly special thing. Amy, Harry and their team are so welcoming and will take time with us to show us around and answer our questions. We arrange multiple club visits each season to Harry Derham Racing and additional visits to Ed Bailey's bloodstock farm where our horses spend their summer holidays.

A typical yard visit will start around 9am (treat yourself to an over night stay nearby if you need to!) After a tea or coffee, Harry will introduce himself and tell us a bit about what we can expect. We'll then follow third lot to the warm up area and learn about some of the horses in front of us.

There will always be time for more questions before our visit is over. Sometimes we are able to run visits on the mornings of race days at Newbury, offering discounted entry to the racecourse to turn our stable visit into an amazing day out. With a minimum of four organised racing club visits during the season all members get a good chance to visit and we haven't let anyone down yet.
