How competitive is the Diomed Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2022, when the race had an over-round of 109%. The race in 2010 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 116%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Diomed Stakes, the over-round has been 113%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £113 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2027 Diomed Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Diomed Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Diomed Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Century Dream (1:37.25) in 2020
  2. Zaaki (1:40.46) in 2019
  3. French Navy (1:41.71) in 2014

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Diomed Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 2 winners. Backing all 18 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -12.50. Whilst we wait for the 2027 Diomed Stakes, remember you can get daily racing predictions from the expert tipsters on the racing predictions page.

The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2013 renewal when Gregorian from John Gosden under the guidance of William Buick, won in a time of 1:48.68, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Century Dream, trained by Simon & Ed Crisford and ridden by James Doyle set the quickest time of 1:37.25 in the 2020 renewal.

What the expert says...
The 2024 winner, Royal Scotsman, came from the Lockinge Stakes and, in doing so, became the first winner to come from that race since Arod achieved it in 2015, and then it was like buses with the 2025 winner, Persica, also taking that route.
