How competitive is the Surrey Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2021, when the race had an over-round of 108%. The race in 2009 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 119%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Surrey Stakes, the over-round has been 113%, which means the bookie expects to pay out Β£100 for every Β£113 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2027 Surrey Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Surrey Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Surrey Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Safe Voyage (1:19.88) in 2020
  2. Olivia Maralda (1:21.03) in 2023
  3. Producer (1:21.48) in 2012

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Surrey Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 0 winners. Backing all 18 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -18.00. Remember to bookmark the racing tips page to access the OLBG racing picks easily daily.

Over the last 20 renewals, it was Safe Voyage, trained by John Quinn and ridden by Jason Hart, who set the fastest winning time in the Surrey Stakes. That runner won the race in a time of 1:19.88 in 2020. At the other end of the scale, it was the combination of trainer Archie Watson and jockey Hollie Doyle with Mehmento who set the slowest winning time; the race-winning time was 1:27.48 in the 2021 renewal.

What the expert says...
The winner tends to head to the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot next time out. Between 2008 & 2025, ten winners did just that; however, their form in that race reads 0650900205!
