2026 Thoroughbred Stakes Preview
This race was given listed status in 1998 and also given the current name of the Thoroughbred Stakes. At the same time, it has since been upgraded to a Group 3 (since 2012).
It is open to three-year-old runners only and is run over one mile. The race is run on day four of the Glorious Goodwood Festival, which is staged in late July or early August.
Previous Group 1 winners cannot enter the race, fillies get a 3lbs allowance whilst previous Group 2 (7lb) and Group 3 (5lb) winners have to carry a penalty.
