How competitive is the Glorious Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2025 when the race had an over-round of 108%. The race in 2009 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 123%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Glorious Stakes, the over-round has been 113%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £113 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2026 Glorious Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Glorious Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Glorious Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Mirage Dancer (2:33.69) in 2018
  2. Redwood (2:33.86) in 2010
  3. Dubday (2:34.03) in 2015

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Glorious Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 8 winners. Backing all 19 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of +4.75. Whilst we wait for the 2026 Glorious Stakes, remember you can get daily racing predictions from the expert tipsters on the racing predictions page.

Over the last 20 renewals, it was Mirage Dancer, trained by Sir Michael Stoute and ridden by Ryan Moore, who set the fastest winning time in the Glorious Stakes. That runner won the race in a time of 2:33.69 in 2018. At the other end of the scale, it was the combination of trainer Sir Michael Stoute and jockey Ryan Moore with Poets Word who set the slowest winning time; the race-winning time was 2:42.60 in the 2017 renewal.

What the expert says...
Six of the winners since 2010 came into this race having achieved a top-three finish at the Newmarket July course last time out, with four of those running in the Princess of Wales's Stakes, the other two running in the Fred Archer.
