2025 Preis der Diana Preview

Officially known as the Preis der Diana, the race is better known to those outside Germany as the German Oaks, their equivalent to the Epsom Oaks, the Irish Oaks or the French Oaks. The race is featured at the Düsseldorf racecourse in August of each year. It's a Group 1 that is contested by three-year-old fillies over a distance of 2,200m or one mile and three furlongs on the turf course.

Established in 1857, it was originally run over a distance of just 2,000m and took place at Tempelhof. Eleven years later, it was moved to Hoppegarten. It has since also been run at Grunewald, back at Hoppegarten, Düsseldorf, Mülheim and Hamburg. It has been staged at Düsseldorf since 2006 and has held G1 status since 2001.

For sponsorship purposes, the 2025 renewal of the Preis der Diana will hold the title of '167th Henkel-Preis der Diana - German Oaks'.
