2027 Prix de Diane Preview

Scheduled to take place in June of each year at the Chantilly racecourse is the Prix de Diane, which is known as the French Oaks.

The race, just like the Epsom Oaks, is restricted to three-year-old fillies and is run over a distance of one mile, two and a half furlongs (2,100m).

The race was established in 1843 and currently holds a Group 1 status. It was originally restricted to only French-born and bred horses; however, it is now open to all, and numerous European raiders have come and won the race.

How competitive is the Prix de Diane market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2010, when the race had an over-round of 117%. The race in 2007 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 128%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Prix de Diane, the over-round has been 121%, which means the bookie expects to pay out ÂŁ100 for every ÂŁ121 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2027 Prix de Diane Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Prix de Diane Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Prix de Diane races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Treve (2:03.77) in 2013
  2. Diamond Necklace (2:03.78) in 2026
  3. Blue Rose Cen (2:05.09) in 2023

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Prix de Diane next time out, then you would have backed a total of 7 winners. Backing all 18 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -3.80. Remember to use the racing predictions along with the information on this page to find a bet on the 2027 Prix de Diane.

The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2012 renewal when Valyra from J-C Rouget under the guidance of Johnny Murtagh, won in a time of 2:10.11, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Treve, trained by Mme Christiane Head and ridden by Thierry Jarnet set the quickest time of 2:03.77 in the 2013 renewal.

What the expert says...
Diamond Necklace (2026) was the second winner in the last four renewals to come here after winning the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, after Blue Rose Cen took the same route in 2023. Going further back, the 2008, 2011, 2014 & 2016 winners also won this after winning the French Guineas.
