Established in 1920, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is a Group 1 race that is run at Longchamp racecourse in October, more often than not on the first Sunday of October.

The race is open to runners who are aged three or older and is run over a trip of one mile and four furlongs. It is considered by many to be the highlight of the racing season in France, whilst in Europe it is only behind the Epsom Derby in terms of prestige.

What the expert says...
The 2024 winner, Bluestocking, came here to win after winning the Prix Vermeille, a feat also achieved by Zarkava (2008) and Treve (2013). Aventure won the 2025 renewal of that race. Eight of the last twenty winners ran here at Longchamp in their last outing.
