Longchamp Tips & Pointers
Although Paris Longchamp has undergone a two-year renovation program finishing in time for the 2018 season, the track layout has remained unchanged so the previous draw bias is still relevant.
The Prix de l'Abbaye, the Group 1 sprint run on "Arc" Sunday has seen many top sprinters make the trip across the channel. One of the most notable winners was Ian Balding's flying filly "Lochsong" who showed all her counterparts a clean pair of hooves in devastating fashion back in the '90s.
The sprint track at Longchamp is very similar to Sandown's whereby it dissects the round course in the form of a central chute and the runners are going away from those watching in the stands or on TV and it's quite often hard to make out who's winning or has won in a tight finish.
When looking for Prix de l'Abbaye tips a low single-figure draw is advantageous as is the ability to hold a good early position to bag a spot near the inside rail, runners going off too quick tend to fade and set the race up for a horse who is travelling well just off the speed. Horses drawn high and out wide have it all to do.

Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe Tips & Past Winners
What are the best Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe tips?
The "Arc" run over the mile and a half trip, usually attracts double-figure field sizes so positioning is vital to your Arc tips chances. A low single-figure draw is generally advantageous but more important is the jockey being able to get their mount to break well from the stalls and have the pace to hold a good early position.
Runners are on the right-hand turn and the race usually starts to unfold after the penultimate turn into the "false" straight which leads them into the final turn and the kick for home on Longchamp's expansive home straight.
Horses out of position or too far back here would need to be extra special to win but it's possible. Watch the finish of Dancing Brave's 1986 "Arc" It's well worth it, he came from out of camera shot to pass the majority of the field in the last couple of furlongs, beating one of the best "Arc" fields ever assembled.
French races generally are slowly run until the sprint unwinds in the final straight, but the "Arc" does tend to be more of a "British" style race where there is usually a true pace due to the field of high-quality horses looking to win Europe's most prestigious horse race.
Here are the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe past winners for the last 10 renewals. Each row details the year of the race, the horse which won along with the age & weight of the horse. Also detailed is the stall where the horse came from and the total number of runners in the race. The horse's trainer and the jockey at the time of winning the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe are also displayed, along with the starting price at which the horse was sent off.
