2026 Prix Ganay Preview

Scheduled to take place in either late April or early May at the Longchamp racecourse is the Prix Ganay, a race that is open to runners who are aged four or older and is contested over 2,100m (1m2½f) on the turf.

Established in 1889, the race was originally over 100m shorter and known as the Prix des Sablons until being renamed in honour of Jean de Ganay in 1949.

Runners from this race can go on to compete in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, with Waldgeist (2019) being the last to win both races in the same season.
