Chantilly Notable Races
As already mentioned, Chantilly is the home of the French Derby known as the Prix du Jockey Club which is held in early June and usually a week or so apart from the Epsom Derby so classic pretenders tend to target one or the other rather than both prestigious Group 1 races.
The French equivalent is run over 10.5 furlongs so those three-year-olds preferring a more severe test of stamina are likely to favour the Epsom Derby over 12 furlongs.
Similar to Epsom hosting both English middle-distance classics, Chantilly also hosts the French Oaks known as the Prix de Diane which similar to the Prix Du Jockey Club is also run over 10.5 furlongs compared to the 12 furlongs of the English Oaks.
The Prix de Diane is also run in June and tends to be after the English Oaks, so June is the month for Prix du Jockey Club tips and Prix de Diane tips from OLBG's knowledgeable horse racing tipsters!
