2024 Prix Rothschild Preview

Established in 1929 and originally called the Prix d'Astarté, the now-named Prix Rothschild was given its current name in 2008 in memory of the breeder/owner who contributed to French racing, Guy de Rothschild. The race is scheduled to take place in either late July or in August of each year at the Deauville racecourse, it's a Group 1 that is run over a trip of one mile (1,600 metres) and is open to only fillies and mares who are aged three or older.

The race is no stranger to a winning British or Irish raider, Mick Channon won the race with Ascension in 2001, John Gosden won back-to-back renewals with Elusive Kate (2012 & 2013), David O'Meara won in it 2016 (Amazing Maria), Adian O'Brien in 2017 (Roly Poly), Karl Burke in 2019 with Laurens, Aidan O'Brien again in 2021 with Mother Earth and then Jane Chapple-Hyam in 2022 with Saffron Beach!
