2025 Irish 1000 Guineas Preview
The Irish 1000 Guineas is a Group 1 race open to 3yo fillies that is run over one mile at the Curragh Racecourse and takes place in May of each year. Established back in 1922, the race's inaugural running was won by Lady Violette.
Being run after the Qipco 1000 Guineas, it's good to watch out for runners coming from that race to run in this one. In recent years, Winter (2017) & Hermosa (2019) both raced in the Qipco 1000 Guineas and then came here to win the Irish 1000 Guineas.
Also, watch out for those who run well in this race and then go on to run in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, Alpha Centauri in 2018 won both races.
