This race is open to fillies and mares who are aged three or older and is contested over one mile and two furlongs round this right-handed course. The race holds Group 1 status, having been upgraded in 2004.

The 2025 winner, Whirl, was the fifth winner since 2007 to have come from the Epson Oaks and the second one to have finished 2nd in the Oaks and then come and win this race.
