2025 Pretty Polly Stakes (Irish) Preview

The Pretty Polly Stakes (Irish) takes place in August of each year at the Curragh Racecourse and is not to be confused with the listed race with the same name, which is run at Newmarket. Like that race, this is also named after the triple crown (2,000 Guineas, Derby & St Leger) winning filly, Pretty Polly.

This race is open to fillies and mares who are aged three or older and is contested over one mile and two furlongs round this right-handed course. The race holds Group 1 status, having been upgraded in 2004.

For sponsorship purposes, the 2025 renewal of the Pretty Polly Stakes (Irish) will hold the title of 'Paddy Power Pretty Polly Stakes'.

Below you will find the 2025 Pretty Polly Stakes (Irish) Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Pretty Polly Stakes (Irish) Trend Analysis. With the field now finalised, we have the Pretty Polly Stakes (Irish) Trend Shortlist, which is created using the listed trends.

These are the top three quickest-run Pretty Polly Stakes (Irish) races over the last 20 renewals:

 1. Chinese White (2:03.84) in 2010
 2. Alexander Goldrun (2:04.80) in 2006
 3. Ambivalent (2:04.83) in 2013

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Pretty Polly Stakes (Irish) next time out, then you would have backed a total of 4 winners. Backing all 17 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -4.08. Whilst we wait for the 2025 Pretty Polly Stakes (Irish), remember you can get daily racing predictions from the expert tipsters on the racing predictions page.

Over the last 20 renewals, it was Chinese White, trained by D K Weld and ridden by Pat Smullen, who set the fastest winning time in the Pretty Polly Stakes (Irish). That runner won the race in a time of 2:03.84 in 2010. At the other end of the scale, it was the combination of trainer John Gosden and jockey William Buick with Izzi Top who set the slowest winning time; the race-winning time was 2:15.05 in the 2012 renewal.

What the expert says...

Between 2005 and 2013, only two of the nine winners came into the race having won last time out; however, since then, seven of the eleven winners have won last time out, so form certainly seems key in this race now.
