2025 National Stakes Preview
The National Stakes is currently named in honour of Vincent O'Brien, it is a Group 1 restricted to two-year-old fillies and colts and is run over a trip of seven furlongs.
The first renewal was way back in 1849 with the legendary trainer Vincent O'Brien winning the race no fewer than fifteen times between 1967 & 1992, which is why it is named in his honour.
For sponsorship purposes, the 2025 renewal of the National Stakes will hold the title of 'Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes'.
