2027 Pretty Polly Stakes Preview

Not to be confused with the Irish Pretty Polly Stakes, which is run at the Curragh, this Pretty Polly Stakes is a listed race run at Newmarket during the Guineas Festival and is restricted to three-year-old fillies only and is run over a distance of one mile and two furlongs.

Keep an eye on any fillies who perform well in this race and then head to the Epsom Oaks. In 2014, Taghrooda won this race and then went on to win the Epsom Oaks too.

How competitive is the Pretty Polly Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2017, when the race had an over-round of 110%. The race in 2012 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 121%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Pretty Polly Stakes, the over-round has been 114%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £114 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2027 Pretty Polly Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Pretty Polly Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Pretty Polly Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Run Wild (2:01.87) in 2020
  2. Take The Hint (2:01.93) in 2009
  3. With The Moonlight (2:02.57) in 2022

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Pretty Polly Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 3 winners. Backing all 19 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of +9.67. Before placing your bet on the 2027 Pretty Polly Stakes, see which other runners today are being backed on the racing predictions page.

The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2012 renewal when Kailani from Mahmood Al Zarooni under the guidance of Mickael Barzalona, won in a time of 2:09.75, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Run Wild, trained by John Gosden and ridden by Oisin Murphy set the quickest time of 2:01.87 in the 2020 renewal.

What the expert says...
A lot of the winners of this race then go on to run in the Epsom Oaks. Between 2007 and 2025, ten horses have gone directly to that race, with both Talent (2013) and Taghrooda (2014) being successful. However, since then they have gone on to finish 5th, 4th, 8th & 11th.
