How competitive is the Dewhurst Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2013 when the race had an over-round of 108%. The race in 2019 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 132%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Dewhurst Stakes, the over-round has been 115%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £115 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2026 Dewhurst Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Dewhurst Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Dewhurst Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. U S Navy Flag (1:22.37) in 2017
  2. Chaldean (1:22.54) in 2022
  3. Intense Focus (1:23.33) in 2008

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Dewhurst Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 6 winners. Backing all 18 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -3.14. Remember to use the racing predictions along with the information on this page to find a bet on the 2026 Dewhurst Stakes.

The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2014 renewal when Belardo from Roger Varian under the guidance of Andrea Atzeni, won in a time of 1:27.31, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, U S Navy Flag, trained by A P O'Brien and ridden by Ryan Moore set the quickest time of 1:22.37 in the 2017 renewal.

What the expert says...
If you look at the last twelve renewals of this race, then both the Vincent O'Brien National Stakes (x5) and the Champagne Stakes (x4) are worth noting if runners are coming from either of those, with them supplying 9 of the 12 winners.
