How competitive is the Suffolk Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2022 when the race had an over-round of 112%. The race in 2006 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 129%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Suffolk Stakes, the over-round has been 122%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £122 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2026 Suffolk Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Suffolk Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Suffolk Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Kew Green (1:47.70) in 2005
  2. Boonga Roogeta (1:48.85) in 2013
  3. Supaseus (1:49.10) in 2007

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Suffolk Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 4 winners. Backing all 19 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -0.50. Remember to use the racing predictions along with the information on this page to find a bet on the 2026 Suffolk Stakes.

When looking over the past 20 renewals, a time of 1:47.70 was set by Kew Green in 2005, which is the quickest time over that period. The runner was trained by Paul Webber and ridden by Dane O'Neill. The slowest winning time was set in 2012 when Tullius won in a time of 1:55.36, booked to ride was Jimmy Fortune by the trainer Andrew Balding.

What the expert says...
The Cambridgeshire is one race to keep an eye out for, the 2024 (Liberty Lane), 2021 (Bell Rock), and 2015 (Balty Boys) winners all ran in the Cambridgeshire two starts before coming and winning this race. The 2006 winner, Star Of Light, came directly from the Cambridgeshire to win this race.
