How competitive is the Royal Lodge Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2022 when the race had an over-round of 108%. The race in 2009 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 121%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Royal Lodge Stakes, the over-round has been 113%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £113 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2025 Royal Lodge Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Royal Lodge Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Royal Lodge Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Royal Dornoch (1:35.13) in 2019
  2. Steeler (1:35.67) in 2012
  3. Mohawk (1:36.12) in 2018

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Royal Lodge Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 2 winners. Backing all 20 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -15.70. Whilst we wait for the 2025 Royal Lodge Stakes, remember you can get daily racing predictions from the expert tipsters on the racing predictions page.

Over the last 20 renewals, it was Royal Dornoch, trained by A P O'Brien and ridden by Wayne Lordan, who set the fastest winning time in the Royal Lodge Stakes. That runner won the race in a time of 1:35.13 in 2019. At the other end of the scale, it was the combination of trainer Andrew Balding and jockey David Probert with The Foxes who set the slowest winning time; the race-winning time was 1:43.66 in the 2022 renewal.

What the expert says...
The Acomb Stakes has supplied three winners since 2016, including last year when Wimbledon Hawkeye came here to win after finishing 2nd at York.
