How competitive is the Middleton Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2024, when the race had an over-round of 107%. The race in 2018 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 117%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Middleton Stakes, the over-round has been 111%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £111 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2027 Middleton Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Middleton Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Middleton Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Sariska (2:06.20) in 2010
  2. Coronet (2:08.01) in 2018
  3. Promising Lead (2:08.20) in 2008

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Middleton Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 3 winners. Backing all 19 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -11.40. Remember to use the racing predictions along with the information on this page to find a bet on the 2027 Middleton Stakes.

Over the last 20 renewals, it was Sariska, trained by Michael Bell and ridden by Jamie Spencer, who set the fastest winning time in the Middleton Stakes. That runner won the race in a time of 2:06.20 in 2010. At the other end of the scale, it was the combination of trainer James Bethell and jockey Jamie Spencer with Strawberry Dale who set the slowest winning time; the race-winning time was 2:19.41 in the 2006 renewal.

What the expert says...
Since 2007, eight of the winners ran in either the Dahlia Stakes (x4) or the British Champions Fillies Mares Stakes (x4) last time out, and all bar one of those finished in the first three in either of those races. Izzi Top (2012) is the only runner to win either of those races and then come here to win.
