The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2006 renewal when Strawberry Dale from James Bethell under the guidance of Jamie Spencer, won in a time of 2:19.41, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Sariska, trained by Michael Bell and ridden by Jamie Spencer set the quickest time of 2:06.20 in the 2010 renewal.

These are the top three quickest-run Middleton Stakes over the last 20 renewals:

What the expert says...
Since 2007, eight of the winners ran in either the Dahlia Stakes (4) or the British Champions Fillies Mares Stakes (4) last time out and all bar one of those finished in the first three in either of those races, Izzi Top (2012) is the only runner to win either of those races and then come here to win.
