How competitive is the Jorvik Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2018, when the race had an over-round of 113%. The race in 2019 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 129%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Jorvik Stakes, the over-round has been 120%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £120 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2027 Jorvik Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Jorvik Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Jorvik Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Hanoverian Baron (2:28.98) in 2010
  2. Barsanti (2:29.98) in 2016
  3. Scampi (2:30.10) in 2023

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Jorvik Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 4 winners. Backing all 19 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of +1.75. Before placing your bet on the 2027 Jorvik Stakes, see which other runners today are being backed on the racing predictions page.

Over the last 20 renewals, it was Hanoverian Baron, trained by Tony Newcombe and ridden by David Probert, who set the fastest winning time in the Jorvik Stakes. That runner won the race in a time of 2:28.98 in 2010. At the other end of the scale, it was the combination of trainer Michael Jarvis and jockey Philip Robinson with Millville who set the slowest winning time; the race-winning time was 2:37.63 in the 2006 renewal.

What the expert says...
The Old Newton Cup has been a popular route for the winner with the 2010, 2012, 2019 and 2022 winners all taking that route, although their form only reads 9003. The 2023 winner, Scampi, also went to the Old Newton Cup, but with a couple of races in between, that runner managed a 2nd in that race.
