These are the top three quickest-run Ascot Hurdle races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Overturn (4:30.80) in 2011
  2. Zaynar (4:34.26) in 2009
  3. Annie Power (4:34.47) in 2013

Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Ascot Hurdle next time out, then you would have backed a total of 8 winners. Backing all 18 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of +3.16. Before placing your bet on the 2026 Ascot Hurdle, see which other runners today are being backed on the racing predictions page.

When looking over the past 20 renewals, a time of 4:30.80 was set by Overturn in 2011, trained by Donald McCain and ridden by Jason Maguire, which is the quickest time over that period. The slowest winning time was set in 2012 when Oscar Whisky won in a time of 5:02.90 for trainer Nicky Henderson, who booked Barry Geraghty in the saddle.

What the expert says...
You don't get many winners too far down the market; ten of the last twenty winners were favourites, and nineteen winners have come from the first three in the market.
