2027 Turners Novices' Hurdle Preview

The Turners Novices Hurdle (registered as the Baring Bingham Novices Hurdle) is a grade one race over two miles and five furlongs for novices that is run at the Cheltenham racecourse. Recent winners Faugheen (2014) and Yorkhill (2016) have both gone on to festival glory in subsequent seasons, so worth keeping an eye on with a view to future big race winners. Faugheen won the Champion Hurdle in 2015, and Yorkhill won the Novices Chase in 2017.

This is often considered the most competitive of the three major novice hurdles. Unlike the Supreme (speed) or the Albert Bartlett (stamina), the Turners requires a horse that can do everything. It’s a high-class, tactical race where being in the right position at the top of the hill is everything.
