He won on his chasing debut in a handicap off a mark of 118. He then won three of his next four starts and rounded off last season by winning the Plate (2m 4f, Good to Soft) at the Cheltenham Festival off a mark of 139. He started this season on a mark of 148 when third over C&D (Good to Soft). He was left with plenty to do, having been ridden patiently throughout. He ran on strongly to finish 1¾ lengths behind the winner that day and left the impression that he could have finished closer if asked earlier. He can be expected to come on for that run, and a 1 lb rise in the weights ahead of today looks fair. He should take plenty of stopping. (NB).
