You know how punters get lost in too much data or bet blindly? I break down the stats and trends so you can feel confident you’re betting with more than just gut instinct.

The Fate of Favourites

Average Cheltenham Festival Favourite Odds
3.65 (13/5) is the average odds of Festival Favourites between 2016 and 2025.

Many punters think that most short-priced favourites are good things and a lot of odds-on bets are near certainties.

Every punter has a different view on short-priced favourites, and some rarely back short-priced favourites on their own but occasionally do them in doubles and/or trebles.

The tables above and below show us how every short-priced favourite fared in their particular race.
