Progressive mare landing a hat-trick last time. Gets a weight advantage here and can go on to further things in this company.

Gavin Cromwell won this race two years ago, and his sole entry last year ran well despite not being placed. This one is worth a closer look. His winner two years ago wasn't in particularly good form, and he clearly campaigned the horse to arrive here on a good mark. That could well be the case with this one. The chase mark is below her hurdle mark now. The horse won on heavy at the start of her career and has been racing mainly on good ground since then. Perhaps soft ground and first-time cheekpieces could see her return to form. Being by Doyen, she's likely to have more ability than she's shown to date in those recent runs.

Since moving to Dan Skelton's yard, Theonewedreamof has raced twice. She started with a second at Chepstow and then improved when stepping up in distance to three miles at Exeter to win by just over two lengths. She is up five pounds for that success. Today she is down in distance, but her stamina could come into good effect coming up the Cheltenham hill. Theonewedreamof could be another Dan and Harry Skelton success at Cheltenham. With five places on offer, play safe with the each-way option.

Tom Symonds' mare is likely to run well at double-figure odds. She improved last season, winning a good race at Ffos Las in April, and ran well on chase debut at Warwick last time.

Fergal has his novice chasers in fine form, as shown by Sixmilebridge bolting up yesterday. Although not in novice company, I fancy Greyval should be able to take this in her stride on her second chase start. She won two competitive races last spring and has picked up well again, finishing fifth in the Silver Trophy at Chepstow over hurdles before finishing second to Pic Roc when conceding loads of experience over fences LTO. Both runs have been franked, with the hurdles spin seeing NTO winners in second and fourth, and Pic Roc running a cracking race to finish fifth in the Coral Gold Cup from a mark of 135. A mark of 123 sees her give weight to plenty, but she is still massively unexposed. The trip and ground look ideal.

It's Easy ??' she ran away with her latest race on heavy going at Bangor, but she has previously been let down by her jumping. Ellis Collier retains the ride. Although she will face better going at Cheltenham and a seven-pound rise in her mark, she could lead the field all the way to the final fence if she avoids mistakes.

Strong comeback following wind surgery, finishing 2nd at Kempton, but veered right while placing a distant 2nd at Bangor just 14 days ago. Blinkers are now being applied, and a modest each-way bet at 25/1 could prove profitable if they work their magic.

Nicky Richards has sent his charge down from near Carlisle, stable in Greystoke, his only runner of the day. Jockey Danny McMenamin has this as his only mount here. Coming from the north with Ruby Island, they must believe the chestnut mare has substance to be of interest. The run at Wetherby, finishing fourth, may have been required to put an edge on her. The ground does not look that soft, with horses finishing the races off ??' something I noticed from the first day of Cheltenham. Ruby Island could be ridden prominently. Even though she has to give weight away, she could do so with distinction. Her last two outings were in novice chases: a win at Ayr and fourth at Wetherby. She could be progressing and has a solid chance of running a big race at very rewarding odds. I would not be surprised if 28/1 was gone tomorrow before post time.
