Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh share favouritism to see snow fall on Christmas Day this year

Betting odds continue to be offered on a White Christmas happening around parts of the UK this year with the latest cold weather snap hitting up and down the UK this week.

This Friday, October 11, is expected to see an 'Arctic blast' with many expected to see freezing temperatures of -5 and chances of snow falling in some places are high.

Northern Scotland could see snow falling and it's no surprise to see Scottish cities feature highly in the betting odds to see the white stuff on Christmas Day this year.

The icy temperatures come just as many elderly people face their winter fuel payments being taken away after they were axed by the Labour government.

Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen are now all sitting at evens to see snow on Christmas Day with chilly temperatures expected to stay for the next couple of months through to Christmas now.

Scotland officially had a White Christmas in 2023

2024 could be the second consecutive year that we see a White Christmas called in the North of the UK on Christmas Day with parts of Scotland seeing snow falling last year.

The Highlands of Scotland saw snow last Christmas with both Tulloch Bridge and Aviemore officially declared as having a White Christmas by the Met Office last year.

Despite that cold snap up in Scotland, 2023 was declared as the UK's hottest Christmas since 2016 after temperatures of 13.6C were recorded at Exeter Airport on December 25.
