BetCrown is a very easy sportsbook to use, and one football bettors should know about. There is also a casino offering, but the variety in sports offered on its sportsbook, alongside its football betting, is what makes this sportsbook impressive. Everything here is well-executed. Navigation is intuitive, markets load quickly, and the overall experience is smooth, with things spread quite wide for bettors. If you’ve used the likes of 7Bet or BetNero, you’ll recognise the tools and platform, branding aside.

My First Impressions

Although this is from Anakatech, who have a number of other sportsbooks (NRG.bet and 7Bet spring to mind), this does look different. It’s quite common for companies to produce rinse-and-repeat bookies with very little difference, and this is not that, which is great to see. BetCrown is quite busy, but everything that is included should be there and, crucially, is in the right place and easy to find. I like the odds boosts and popular bets, both features that are becoming more commonplace.

Live Betting

Click the “LIVE” tab on the main menu and you’ll be taken straight to all BetCrown’s in-play betting options. Once there you can scroll across and see all the different sports that are available, and here there’s a good selection. There’s a good variety here, and the markets are decent enough, but there isn’t anything in the way of in-play stats for any sport. BetCrown doesn’t quite make our list of best bookmakers for in-play betting, but they are not far off. 

Live Streaming

Within the live betting section you can – and this is a great feature that more bookies should have – toggle on and off all those that live streaming as an option, meaning you can find all the events that you can watch live with the flick of a switch. Among the options here are some basketball matches, plus tennis, table tennis and esports. There is also live streaming of international racing, but not UK.

Betting Odds

After looking through some comparison sites – OddsChecker and a few others – as well as a further look across other bookmakers, it looks like the odds offered at BetCrown are not bad at all. We checked some live football matches, tennis and table tennis games for in-play odds, plus horse racing and a few other sports for upcoming stuff. They’re competitive enough, and a lot of markets have price boosts, which is always good to see.

⚽ Football Betting

BetCrown offers a very wide range of football markets, with odds that are competitive. There’s obviously the major leagues and competitions, but punters can also find domestic leagues as broad and varied as Angola, Armenia, Tanzania and Thailand.

There are hundreds and hundreds of markets available for betting at the time of the review, from the Champions League to domestic leagues globally, you'll also find UK non-league coverage. The primary global venues are first in the list then major footballing nations and then a-z by country after that. So far as football betting sites go, they seem to have everything covered.

Bet Builder 

Right at the top of most football matches you’ll see the Bet Builder option. Scanning through some Premier League games and the bet builder options for them presents a great deal of markets and they seem to have most things covered. Some markets – correct score, for example – allow you to toggle between list or tile displays, also. One downside is that the only player markets that I can find are for goalscorer; there is no assist, card, foul or to be fouled options.

Bonuses

As well as the welcome offer, there are a few different standard promotions to take advantage of. Lots and lots of football markets have odds boosts – just look for the little blue icons that point up. On top of that BetCrown offer Early Payout when your team goes just one goal ahead, Acca Boosts that increase returns by up to 75% depending on legs and Bore Draw that gives you money back if a the game ends 0-0.

Cash Out

Cashout is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it's crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. BetCrown has done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

🏇 Horse Racing

In terms of functionality the horse racing isn’t bad here, with decent information of the courses, races and riders for most races. The big anomaly, however, is the lack of UK racing. There’s plenty from around the world – US, Argentina, Ireland, Mexico and more – but no UK meets whatsoever (there is Irish racing, however). On top of that, there’s nothing in the way of racing promotions such as Best Odds Guaranteed, enhanced each way odds, or finishing second to the favourite etc. Overall, I struggle to see racing punters staying here, to be honest.

A full range of American Sports is available, including all the major leagues, plus college games and the same sports across the globe.

🏈 American Football Betting

The first thing BetCrown serves (and this goes for basketball also) is the moneyline market and total. This isn’t what bettors want and overlooks how people bet on these sports. What would be much more useful is to have the moneyline alongside the points spread and the total. If you’re only going to choose one, then just choose the spread. That said, once you click through on a game, not only do you get the points spread, but you also get a nice toggle on that market (and the total) that allows you to slide the number higher or lower, with the odds changing accordingly. 🏀 Basketball Betting

On the main basketball page it’s actually quite difficult to work out what the markets are – it’s a bit confusing – but once you click through to a match, things are done really well. The three main markets (winner, spread and total) are top and the slider feature (just like in the American football section), that allows you to tease or please the total or the spread, is a great part of their product. The number of markets here is fantastic, and the bet builder packs and player specials are also a great addition. You can also compare BetCrown to the best basketball betting sites.

⚾ Baseball Betting

Clearly there is plenty of MLB taking up most of the space here, but they also have markets for the Japanese, Taiwanese and South Korean leagues, also. The number of markets per game is above average, and that goes across the aforementioned Asian leagues, not just MLB games, which can sometimes be overlooked. In addition, the same stats system can be used here to help inform betting. Like the other US sports, the way the markets are packaged up , with pitcher lines, player specials and game props, is really pleasing. 🏒 Ice Hockey Betting

This is maybe the most limited offering of the major US sports. There aren't as many competitions, or markets per competition, and there is nothing in the way of boosts or promotions of any kind. The good news is that you get quite a bit more in the way of statistics when compared to basketball or baseball, for example, but overall this feels a bit like it’s just ticking along.

🐕 Greyhound Betting

The greyhound betting here isn’t bad, with courses from the UK, Ireland and Australia featuring. All have most courses listed – there are 10 for the UK at the time of review – and there’s a decent bit of info listed per dog. Unfortunately, there is live streaming available for any of the races, which will definitely put greyhound punters off.

There are markets for the Darts World Cup, Modus Series matches, as well as the PDC European Tour. Although it’s a way off there is also an outright market for the PDC World Championships later in the year. Within each game the number of markets isn’t bad, and this obviously increases for bigger matches. Most of these markets focus on 180s – most, totals, player 180s etc. This is pretty good, given that most bookies can overlook the smaller competitions.

Overall this is pretty limited from BetCrown. We’re in the middle of the English Open and understandably there are markets for it – correct score, total frames, frame handicap and winner. That’s about par for the course across UK bookies so nothing to shout about, but better than some. The downside is that there are no outrights, or anything else, for the majors. You can also get some future odds on the winner for the UK Championships, The Masters and the World Championships, despite them being a way off, which is an absolute must for snooker betting sites.

🏉 Rugby Betting (Union & League)

By Luke Bradshaw Lee - BetCrown split rugby union and rugby league, which is common and completely understandable. This isn’t great to be honest, because there is a real lack of markets per match – it’s not much more than match result, spread and a couple more. For some French league games there’s a few more. That said, the amount of markets increases fairly significantly for rugby league games, particularly the NRL. While Super League in the UK is pretty limited, the NRL has loads – player markets, team props and plenty more. All in all this isn’t that bad, the league markets look about right, and while there are all the expected competitions covered for union, the markets are limited. Overall this isn’t bad at all. There’s plenty of competitions listed, with domestic competitions in England, Australia, India, the West Indies and more, but more impressive than that is the number of different markets per match. The smaller matches have less, as you’d expect, but for the higher profile games, there’s loads on offer. I like the Player Specials, as well as the Play By Play markets, that include things like top bowler and top batsman per team.

🎾 Tennis Betting

By James Banting - I think the tennis betting at BetCrown is very good. Across the site it’s definitely one of the better sports in terms of in-play coverage and it's nice to have a number of different odds boosts, plus, as mentioned earlier. There is also pretty much every competition listed here, so overall it’s pretty difficult to fault. For the main competitions – basically the Grand Slams, plus all the ATP and WTA tournaments – the number of markets, with interesting specials, is really great. Maybe if there were more promotions per match, or some better odds, they’d be close to getting into the top 10 tennis betting sites on OLBG.

By James Banting - I can find odds for all the majors throughout the year and even the Solheim Cup two years from now. That’s on top of some smaller competitions that include some nice markets, with two-ball handicaps included, and that goes for most tournaments including those on the LIV tour. While there’s plenty here, and more than most, the way it’s laid out does make it tricky to find because it’s just put in one big list. It feels like it’s almost selling itself a bit short, because the content is probably better than it appears.

As a motorsports bettor, I quite like BetCrown’s variety. Everything is grouped together, so if you head to the motorsports section you’ll find Formula 1, MotoGP, Moto2 and 3, Nascar and Speedway. Each one features a drop-down menu to specific races, meaning that overall there is a great deal to bet on. For Formula 1 there’s a load of markets, with antepost betting on the driver and constructor titles, plus things like “driver to win a race this season” and head to head markets (for drivers and teams) such as Lando Norris vs Max Verstappen.

🥊 Boxing Betting

There are plenty of boxing matches to bet on at BetCrown and, as with most bookies offering boxing matches, the number of things that you can bet on, depends on how big a bout it is. The smaller ones literally just have the option to bet on the winner, but for the bigger ones you’ll be able to bet on round betting, method of victory, knockdown markets and over/under options on punches thrown and landed.

Other Sports Betting

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is still a large enough market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG; let’s dig in a bit further.

BetCrown offers extensive betting options for handball, volleyball, cycling, AFL betting, and esports. Handball includes global competitions; volleyball,covers European Championships and various tournaments; cycling features future tours and current races; AFL betting has comprehensive stats and esports offers all major games like League of Legends and CS:GO.

🗳️ Political Betting

BetCrown political betting focuses solely on the UK and the US. You’ll find both listed under the Specials section of the menu, with some UK markets on next party leaders, and US markets down to state level. It’s not bad, spread quite wide, but not that deep. It’s actually pretty limited, overall.

I can see people betting here if already betting on other things, but can’t see it competing with the best political betting sites.

This is pretty average from BetCrown, with just two events listed – BBC Sports Personality of the Year, and Strictly Come Dancing. I’d like to see a lot more if I’m being honest and this doesn’t compete with any of the best TV and entertainment bookies

Casino

BetCrown does have casino. Despite the name of the brand, it's incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banners across the top. Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen BetCrown has their “Join” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

There is no BetCrown app, but the mobile version of the site is exceptional and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been built with that in mind – it does exactly what you want and that is not to feel too far removed when you switch from one device to the next, but also being product-led, and designed to suit its purpose as a proper mobile version. 

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to BetCrown I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed. 

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like BetCrown has got this part nailed.

BetCrown Responsible Gambling Features

Expect KYC procedures and document supply as a matter-of-course, to confirm your account after you have deposited a certain level of funds and in the event of any large wins.
