Full FanTeam Bookmaker Review
FanTeam is a bit of a funny one, really. Its primary function is for users to be able to bet money on fantasy sports, and it does that incredibly well. Definitely adding in the aspect of daily and weekly games means that punters aren’t waiting on season-long futures exclusively. Personally, I’ve never quite got into segmented fantasy games when there is a wider one to win, so I would always pick a season-long competition over weekly or daily games, and I would rather just use a sportsbook to make bets on any given day.
Which brings us on to their sportsbook. There are lots of sports missing – no horse racing, golf, snooker and so on. The major sports are covered, but if you like betting on some smaller sports, then you won’t find anything here. For the sports that are here, there aren’t a lot of markets per sport, but the real big talking point here is the odds.
Comparing the odds against most other bookies it’s impossible to ignore that these are regularly the best around. If you are line shopping, or like quite simply bets (you’re not in to bet builders etc.), then you kind of have to have an account here because the value you can get is inarguable.
FanTeam Review Summary
There are no bells and whistles, or fancy promotions, just incredible odds.

Cons
- Limited number of sports to bet on through the sportsbook
Who are FanTeam?
FanTeam is primarily known for its fantasy sports offering, with multiple game types and platforms to play. But it also has a slick sportsbook that has grown over the last few years. Punters can take advantage of both once signing up, but how good is it? Let’s find out.
First Impression of FanTeam
FanTeam Fantasy Sports
There are a number of different fantasy games to play at FanTeam, unsurprisingly, but the main thing to know is that you can choose:
The sport, competition or tournament in which you want to play
Whether you want to play over an entire season (a very typical, classic option), or over a specific week, or even a single day.
You then build your team, with players’ prices based on actual real-life odds.
Your team gains points, and as a result you can win money.
In the daily fantasy games, you can enter a team on Saturday and get your winnings on Monday. In daily fantasy you start out with a brand new team for each tournament you enter, and there are no changes made after the tournament has started.
In most instances (although there are some exceptions), you wager money to enter a particular fantasy tournament, with others doing the same. This money is pooled together, with the winner claiming the prize pot.

Fantasy Sports to Play
Most of the top sports are included at FanTeam. There is football, golf, tennis and all the major US sports of basketball, baseball, American football and ice hockey. Within those sports most of the major leagues are covered and although there is a heavy US focus (given the country’s love and association with fantasy sports), you’ll find European and South American leagues that you can select to play fantasy tournaments. Just head to the main lobby and filter through the different sports and competitions.
Sportsbook Fantasy Betting
Within the FanTeam sportsbook there is also the ability to bet on fantasy points, and sort of hybrid between the two products offered by FanTeam, that being fantasy sports and a classic sportsbook.
Within the markets of a particular event, a Champions League football fixture for example, you’ll find the usual things to bet on – match result, BTTS, total goals, goalscorers, cards etc. In addition to those markets you’ll find “Fantasy” markets. These allow users to bet on how many fantasy points a player will get without fully entering an entire team, or competing in a fantasy tournament. You can even get “Fantasy Duels” where you pick who will get more fantasy points than an opposing player: Jude Bellingham vs Harry Kane, for example.
Also, remember that it is always worth checking alternative betting options, including best spread betting sites and betting exchange sites, depending on who you are as a bettor.
Live Betting
There’s some good stuff here, and the vast majority of it is okay. As discussed above, the in-play markets are where you’re directed to from the off, something that is fairly standard across most sportsbooks and you can then choose to navigate from this page. All the sports included here are available to bet on through in-play markets, but like the standard betting, the markets are pretty limited compared to most other bookies in the UK.

Live Streaming
FanTeam doesn’t offer any live streaming at the time of this review.
Betting Odds
After looking across other bookmakers in the UK, plus going through some comparison sites, it seems as though that the odds offered at FanTeam are exceptional. We checked football, basketball and tennis for in-play odds, plus the same again for pre-match and futures. They’re generally excellent across the board.
Betting App or Mobile Site
This is one of those products and platforms where I can see myself almost exclusively using the app because it’s excellent and I wouldn’t be surprised if over the last few years FanTeam has become app/mobile-led with users heading there in their droves. It’s slick, with seamless navigation and, even for novices, intuitive to use. Check out the best betting apps in the UK to see how FanTeam comapres.
⚽ Football Betting

You’d be forgiven for thinking the number of leagues covered would be small here, but there are absolutely tons, including domestic leagues in Egypt, Ukraine, China, Finland and Slovakia. The odds are actually exceptional. I went through some upcoming fixtures and compared to some of the major bookies – including bet365, betfair, Unibet and Paddy Power – are for a lot of markets you get better odds here.
The number of markets here is decent, but not incredible. FanTeam doesn’t make our best football betting sites in the UK, because the number of markets offered per fixture isn’t huge, plus it’s missing a few fairly standard features, but it also boasts things other sportsbooks don’t have (see the Sportsbook Fantasy Betting section above).
You can see in the chart below, in greater detail, why certain bookies rank among the top for football betting sites, and what FanTeam is up against.

🎾 Tennis Betting
James Banting
Tipster Competition Assistant
At the time of review their tennis section has some markets on the upcoming competitions. There are loads at the moment, and those are covered, but unfortunately there are no outrights or futures on the Grand Slams, something that I’d like to see. While that’s disappointing, as is the number of markets per game which is pretty limited, I can’t argue with the odds, one bit. These are really good, better than most, and if you’re going to bet on these specifically you’ll get far more value than most other sportsbooks around. 🇺🇸 US Sports Betting
A full range of American Sports is available. We’ll check out the major leagues, but also look into the sports further down the pyramid and, as well as across the globe.
🏀 Basketball Betting
The selection is definitely more limited than the football options. There are NBA games and dEuroLeague games and that’s about it. I think all the fantasy focused for basketball must be through the Games part of the site, in a more classical sense, because there isn’t anything in the way of betting on fantasy points here, like with the vast football options. All that said, the odds that are here are still excellent, and you can bet on futures such as NBA champion.
⚾ Baseball Betting
You can read the same for baseball as for basketball. There is a very limited variety in markets to bet on here, with match result, run lines, handicap betting and some over/under markets for the first inning, and this is true of all of the upcoming MLB games that I checked. The odds, especially on the result, are really good and about as good as you’ll see across UK bookies. Keep tabs on the top baseball betting sites though, to see why they make it onto our list.
🏒 Ice Hockey Betting
Not to sound like a broken record, but the odds for ice hockey are really, genuinely some of the best out there. Take one game tonight, for example. The Boston Bruins taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs. Moneyline markets, for most bookies have Boston at around 1.60 (there some variance across the board, but this the average) and the Leafs at 2.40. At the same time you can get the Bruins at 2.08 (so above Evens) and Toronto at 2.87. It’s seriously good value that you won’t find matched pretty much anywhere else.

Account Opening Process
A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen FanTeam has their “Register” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.
Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]
I really like the user experience of FanTeam. It can take a little getting used to – especially the way the filter menu works, rather than takes you through to another page, but once you get the hang of it I think it fits, and does a great job of conveying what is available very quickly. The fantasy games take a little getting used to, but anyone who has played FPL, or the like, can logically find their way through the process. The fact that each sport doesn’t have a huge amount of markets to bet on means that the overall dashboards are pretty clean.
Placing a bet
This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to FanTeam I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed.
Managing your account
As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like FanTeam has got this part nailed.
Casino
They also have some bonuses and offers that lead to casino spins should you win sportsbook bets. Check our Casino Sites page for dedicated new online casinos and slot sites.
You can also check out OLBG’s latest addition; our Best Bingo Sites. All of which are, obviously, sites fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.
Responsible Gambling Features
You can set your deposit limit while you’re signing up; long before you’ve got close to actually making a bet.
There is also a Settings tab at the bottom of the page, no matter what page you’re on, that allows you to make changes to limits, as well as odds formats, or odds change preferences/notifications.
There are the following measures within its functionality:
