My First Impressions
There is something very nostalgic about the Vickers Bet site and app. It’s probably the green and yellow that feels very old school horse racing, and is a clear nod to their betting shop graphics – it’s an obvious display of their heritage.
That aside, this all feels very easy to access, straightforward to move around and in order, with everything exactly as it should be. There is very little in the shape of bells and whistles, meaning it’s all about the betting. A lot of people will like this.
If you click the IN-PLAY tab on the top menu you’ll be taken straight to the live betting, as expected. This looks quite impressive, all things considered. There are plenty of sports here to choose between, with a great variety – punters can find football, tennis and basketball, as you’d expect, but also table tennis, volleyball and a few others. The markets look fine, but there is nothing in the way of in-play statistics or graphics, which is a bit of a shame. You can check if they make it into our best bookmakers for in-play betting here.

Betting Odds
Comparing Vickers Bet’s odds to other bookies across the industry, as well as checking some comparison sites, Vickers Bet is pretty good. We checked football, tennis and basketball for in-play odds, plus horse racing, and cricket for pre-match and antepost odds. There’s nothing that jumps out as market-leading, and if you line-shopped you’d get more value in other places, but there is nothing to complain about here.
Betting App or Mobile Site?
Vickers Bet has a nice app. The app, the mobile version of the site, and the desktop version are all pretty much identical. The menu is moved to the bottom, which makes sense, but that aside, if you use one version of the platform you’ll be right at home using any other. There are no additional features, or drawbacks, when using the app. It’s a simple app, well made.
We rank every bookie, at every sport, and Vickers Bet is a little bit off our best football betting sites in the UK, but it’s still a great betting option. There is a healthy number of leagues and competitions covered, from all around the globe, and it could go head to head for event coverage with any sportsbook in the UK. I do like the market layout – match result, Over 2.5 goals, and then your choice for a third from the dropdown – on the competition pages, that works. There are some plenty of markets, plus the odds look decent enough, but there is nothing in the way of odds boosts or insurance type promotions. There is, however, a 50% acca bonus (minimum four selections).

This is pretty limited overall. Especially for football where there isn’t anything to speak of, aside from the welcome offer and the acca boost mentioned above. There are some horse racing promotions, which we’ll get into later.

Cash out is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it's crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. Vickers Bet have done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

The horse racing at Vickers Bet is one of its strong points. All UK and Irish racing is covered, plus meets around the world, including the USA, South Africa, Australia and South America. Vickers Bet offers Extra Places on selected races every day, as well as money back specials. Place up to a £10 bet on a selected race and you’ll get your stake back if your horse finishes second.
A full range of American Sports is available, including all the major leagues, plus college games and the same sports across the globe.
🏈 American Football Betting
This is a little bit confusing. What NFL and college football fans want, is the spread, and the total clearly stated from the off and that’s not the case here. The moneyline market is the first one you see (like it would be for soccer) but that’s at odds with what bettors want. You’ll find the Total in Popular Markets, but working out the spread is quite difficult – you have to scroll through Asian Handicap and find the odds that are the closest to Evens. 🏀 Basketball Betting
I thought this would be the same as the American Football betting, in terms of having no spread, but interestingly there is a market here called “Home Draw Away With Handicap”, which is effectively the spread. So, good that it’s here for basketball, but makes it all the more frustrating that it’s not there for the American Football section. ⚾ Baseball Betting
Vickers Bet obviously covers the MLB, but they also have markets for the Japanese, South Korean and international competitions. The markets, and the odds, especially on the outrights, look pretty good. The MLB season is well underway and there are loads of things to bet on, including individual awards, which aren’t represented here unfortunately, but the number of markets per game is good enough and there are loads of player prop options. 🏒 Ice Hockey Betting
The NHL takes up the bulk of space here, as expected. But there are also some Australian, Finnish and German fixtures included, among others. I selected an upcoming NHL game and there are loads of markets listed – more than pretty much anywhere else. For the smaller leagues that reduces a bit more, which is understandable.
🐕 Greyhound Betting
This is pretty good, although we’ve already mentioned that Vickers Bet doesn’t have Best Odds Guaranteed or live streaming, so it may attract punters for greyhounds specifically given how many other bookies do. Beyond that there markets for all races today in the UK and Ireland, with Winner, Trap Winner and Forecast options available. It’s pretty solid, without being anything more than that, and a bit off the best greyhound betting sites.

The darts betting at Vickers Bet is pretty nice. The outrights on future events are great, and once you click through to the match ups the number of markets is probably more than most. Per match you’ll get odds for sets, 180 markets, legs and some extras, such as 170 checkouts and nine dart finishes. Unfortunately, however, there aren’t any odds or markets for the World Championships – they may be a way off, but that’s something I’d expect to see all year round to be honest, so that feels like a miss. Overall, this covers all the bases.
The snooker here is decent. There are some outrights listed for a couple of big competitions, but plus some smaller competitions that are more immediate. In terms of odds they’re right in the sweet spot, and when it comes to markets per match there are things like over/under on match centuries and total frames, plus additional frame betting, on top of the usual result and handicap stuff.
By Luke Bradshaw Lee - Vickers Bet splits union and league into different categories which, I think, makes sense. For both, there are most of the domestic competitions that you’d expect. We, once again, have the spread listed as “Match Winner With Handicap”, but it’s great that it’s there. There are plenty of markets, but not quite enough player markets per match, although these may increase after team lineups each week.
Here we’ve got Test matches, the IPL and a number of different competitions going on at the moment – or in the near future – and they’re all included here. You can select different games based on the drop-down menus that sort first by region, and then by competition. You’ll find competitions from around the world including Nepal and the United Arab Emirates. For some of those competitions, the markets are extensive, with plenty of player props.

That said, there are a huge number of events featured here with competitions from the ATP, WTA, ITF and UTR. Each one has a decent enough amount of markets, split into Popular, Set, Games and Players.
By James Banting - Unlike the tennis betting, the golf does list odds on outrights for the major tournaments, with markets up for The Masters, US Open, The Open, The PGA Championship and more. There are obviously smaller, more immediate, tournaments also here, but it’s nice to see the year’s majors all here regardless of how far away they are. The number of markets per tournament are limited, so the spread is wide but thin. It’s worth checking our best golf betting sites to see how Vickers Bet compares – but generally this is pretty good.

Weirdly, there is no Formula 1 here, at all. Head to the Motorsports section and the only competition listed is the Daytona 500 in NASCAR. So no F1, plus no MotoGP, Speedway or anything else. It’s all a bit lacking.
There’s enough decent boxing betting to keep me interested here, and the markets look dependent on how far away the actual fight is. Those this weekend and over the next few weeks have an okay offering, whereas the further away they get the less markets on offer. That’s understandable, and I wouldn’t expect to find round by round and the like for fights that are months away, but I would definitely like more options for big bouts this weekend, and that’s definitely limited, based on my experience with Vickers Bet.
Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is still a large enough market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG; let’s dig in a bit further.

Account Opening Process
A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen Vickers Bet has their “JOIN” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.
Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]
As mentioned, there is a very good Vickers Bet app, but the mobile version of the site is really good and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been built to cover all bases. It does exactly what you want and that is not to feel too far removed when you switch from one device to the next, but also being product-led, and designed to suit its purpose as a proper mobile version. I used the app for most of this review and found it incredibly easy to use.
Placing a bet
This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to Vickers Bet I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very good indeed.
Managing your account
As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the left of the screen. On the mobile version, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like Vickers Bet has got this part nailed.
