Full BetAhoy Bookmaker Review

BetAhoy may be a new betting site, but it offers a very solid product thanks to its reliable platform, with some key features appreciated by both users and the OLBG team

It features a really good welcome offer, Best Odds Guaranteed, instant deposits and customer support via live chat and email.

Verification is under UK Gambling Commission licence number 100094 (BetAhoy Ltd).

- Your Sports Betting Guide 👍

BetAhoy feels like a product built for modern bettors. The interface is clean, uncluttered, and clearly designed. From the outset, the emphasis is on variety, particularly through the number of sports and markets that are offered. The sportsbook itself is still growing, but what’s here is well-executed. Navigation is intuitive, markets load quickly, and the overall experience is smooth, with things spread quite wide for bettors.

My First Impressions

BetAhoy is a completely independent sportsbook, but they use an EveryMatrix turnkey platform. What does that mean? Well, it means that the platform that you see and use as a bettor is one that’s used across other sites. So, if you’ve used the likes of BetGoodwin, 36Vegas or BetAhoy, you’ll recognise the layout and functionality, but the branding will be different. The great thing is that the platform itself is very easy to use.

Live Betting

If you select the IN-PLAY tab on the main menu you’ll be taken straight to the live betting, as expected. This looks quite impressive, all things considered. There are plenty of sports here to choose between, with a great variety – punters can find football, tennis and basketball, as you’d expect, but also table tennis, volleyball, handball, esports and a few others. The markets look good and there are some basic in-play statistics. You can check if they make it into our best bookmakers for in-play betting here.

Live Streaming

There is currently no live streaming available on BetAhoy. This is one of the more noticeable gaps in the offering, especially when compared to established bookmakers that provide integrated streams for horse racing, tennis, and football.

Betting Odds

BetAhoy’s standout feature is its pricing. With an exchange-driven model, odds are often more competitive than traditional bookmakers, particularly on major football markets. Margins are noticeably tighter, which will appeal to value-conscious bettors and those placing larger stakes. While liquidity isn’t yet on par with the biggest exchanges, it’s more than sufficient for most recreational and semi-serious punters. However, we’re reviewing the sportsbook here, and the odds are still very good and better than most.

Betting App or Mobile Site?

BetAhoy has no app. The mobile version of the site, however, is better than the desktop version which makes me think that the whole platform has been designed to be mobile-first, and forgo the need for an app, at least for now. The navigation and UX on the app is really good – simple to follow, intuitive menu layout, and easy to go back and forth when browsing or changing decisions.

Compare to the best betting apps in the country.

⚽ Football Betting

We rank every bookie, at every sport, and BetAhoy is just a bit off our best football betting sites in the UK, but it’s still very good. There is an enormous number of leagues and competitions covered, from all around the globe, and it could go head to head for event coverage with any sportsbook in the UK. I do like the market layout – match result, Over 2.5 goals, and then your choice for a third from the dropdown – on the competition pages, that works. There are some pre-made bet builders, and plenty of markets, plus the odds look decent enough, but there is nothing in the way of odds boosts, acca boosts, or insurance type promotions.

Bet Builder

This is very good. You can go to a number of different sports and you’ll find great bet builder options. I’ve already mentioned that there are pre-built ones waiting, and these can always be a bit misleading I think sometimes, with bookies trying to send you in a particular direction. But for an upcoming Premier League game, for example, there are 195 different markets to choose from (they tell you under each tab).

Bonuses

There’s a few bonuses, on top of odds boosts and welcome offer, but they’re not always running all the time. These include Sub Switch, their version of a substitution guarantee, which is great to see.

Cash Out

Cash out is a very important betting feature for punters these days, so it's crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. BetAhoy has done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

🏇 Horse Racing

The horse racing at BetAhoy is one of its strong points. All UK and Irish racing is covered, plus meets around the world, including the USA, South Africa, Australia and South America. BetAhoy offers Best Odds Guaranteed from 10:00 AM every morning on all UK and Irish races, but it is capped at £100. There is also Double Result, the best type of First Past The Post, that can push your selections up a place post-result, plus cover your winners if they are disqualified after.

Overall, this is pretty good, but you can see how they compare to our top 10 best horse racing betting sites.

🇺🇸 US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available, including all the major leagues, plus college games and the same sports across the globe.

🏈 American Football Betting

I mentioned the layout of three betting markets in the football that I liked and this continues here, where you’ll find the three main markets – moneyline, total and spread. We’ll gloss over the fact that the spread is titled AsianHandicap which, for me, is a little confusing, but it’s a blot on an otherwise pretty good copybook. There are a tonne of markets, and some outrights and futures for things like divisional winners, but there is nothing in the way of player props, or MVP awards. It’s worth checking out our best NFL betting sites to see how BetAhoy compares.

🏀 Basketball Betting

BetAhoy has a brilliant selection of basketball leagues to bet on, there are hundreds and hundreds of competitions. There’s obviously the NBA, but BetAhoy covers a wide range of EuroLeague and domestic world competitions, including competitions in Brazil, Puerto Rico and Morocco, among others. There are also plenty of markets per game, with game, team and player markets covered impressively. Take the WNBA, for example, with a fantastic range of markets – match, halves/quarters, points, player probs on points, rebounds, assists etc. – right across the board. It’s quite impressive. You can also compare BetAhoy to the best basketball betting sites.

⚾ Baseball Betting

BetAhoy obviously covers the MLB, but they also have markets for the Japanese, South Korean and international competitions. The markets, and the odds, especially on the outrights, look pretty good. The MLB season is well underway and there are loads of things to bet on, including individual awards, which aren’t represented here unfortunately, but the number of markets per game is good enough and there are loads of player prop options. Keep tabs on the top baseball betting sites though, to see why they make it onto our list.

🏒 Ice Hockey Betting

The NHL takes up the bulk of space here, as expected. But there are also some Australian, Finnish and German fixtures included, among others. I selected an upcoming NHL game and there are loads of markets listed – more than pretty much anywhere else. For the smaller leagues that reduces a bit more, which is understandable. It’s quite nice to see some odds on the Conn Smythe trophy, also, that’s definitely something that you won’t get everywhere.

🐕 Greyhound Betting

This isn’t bad, although we’ve already mentioned that BetAhoy does have Best Odds Guaranteed and live streaming, so it may attract punters for greyhounds specifically, given how many other bookies don’t. Beyond that there markets for all races today in the UK and Ireland, with Winner, Trap Winner and Forecast options available. It’s pretty solid, without being anything more than that, and a bit off the best greyhound betting sites.

🎯 Darts Betting

Matthew Edgar

Matthew Edgar

- Your Darts Betting Guide 👍

This isn’t bad from BetAhoy and it does do some very good things here, compared to other darts betting sites in the UK. The outrights on future events are great, and once you click through to the match ups the number of markets is probably more than most. Weirdly, however, there aren’t any odds or markets for the World Championships – they may be a way off, but that’s something I’d expect to see all year round to be honest, so that feels like a miss. I can see myself coming back, because the immediate stuff is good, but it does feel like there’s some improvements to be had.

Snooker Betting

Steve Madgwick

Steve Madgwick

Editor-In-Chief

In terms of snooker betting sites, there are some outrights listed for a couple of big competitions, but that’s about it really. I’d like to see greater coverage of some of the smaller events and competitions, with more markets per competition while we’re at it, but this is solid enough, even if it doesn’t blow me away.

Compare to the best snooker betting sites in the UK.

🏉 Rugby Betting (Union & League)

By Luke Bradshaw Lee - BetAhoy splits union and league into different categories which, I think, makes sense. For both, there is pretty much every competition that you’d want to be included here, which is really good to see. There’s even the Japanese domestic league (in Union), which only a handful of other betting sites include – the overall the coverage of competitions is fantastic, with even the second tier of French rugby and some women’s competitions there. For rugby league there are more competitions here than most other bookies, with loads of markets for NRL, plus Super League and RFL competitions included, too. See how they compare to our best rugby betting sites.

🏏 Cricket Betting

James Banting

James Banting

Expert Guide

This is very good when it come to event coverage. There are Test matches, the IPL and a number of different competitions going on at the moment – or in the near future – and they’re all included here. On top of that there are some domestic competitions from the Caribbean that you’ll only find at a select few bookies in the UK, so that’s really impressive. Think the Cool & Smooth T20 and Spice Isle T10. For an in-play Test match there’s enough to keep me interested with a decent enough selection of team and player markets. Overall I’m pretty happy with the cricket betting here.

We list the 10 best cricket betting sites here.

🎾 Tennis Betting

By James Banting -  There’s enough here to keep me coming back, but there are some negatives. The upcoming French Open features heavily, but there is nothing in the way of odds or markets on any of the other Grand Slams, which I can find at plenty of other bookies if desired. I am impressed with the decent selection of ATP, WTA, Challengers and ITF matches, however. The odds are pretty good. Scanning the ATP matches over the next couple of days I can definitely get some value here, so that, coupled with the great event coverage, makes this absolutely somewhere that I’d come back. See if they make it into the top 10 tennis betting sites on OLBG.

🏌️ Golf Betting

By James Banting -  As with all the sports listed on BetAhoy, it clearly displays how many games there are to bet on per sport. When I went to check out the golf section there are 108 different events so I already know that there’s going to be enough before I’ve even clicked and dug any deeper. As expected, all the majors are there for next year, plus more immediate, smaller tournaments such as the Magical Kenya Open, TGL and Mexican Open. It’s worth checking our best golf betting sites to see how BetAhoy compares – but generally this is pretty good.

🏎️ Motorsports Betting

Andy Powell

Andy Powell

Expert Guide

There’s a bit of good and bad here. Formula 1 is separated from the rest of the motorsport markets, which is fairly commonplace, but the actual Formula 1 section is pretty basic. Potentially this gets amped up the closer we get to an individual Grand Prix, but this is a little disappointing. The upside is that the rest of the motorsport on offer is pretty comprehensive – there’s MotoGP, NASCAR, Speedway, IndyCar, SuperCars and even some stock car racing. That’s more than most, and will undoubtedly attract motorsport bettors, particularly those for some of the more esoteric events.

Compare to the best motorsport betting sites.

🥊 Boxing Betting

There’s enough decent boxing betting to keep me interested here, and the markets look dependent on how far away the actual fight is. Those this weekend and over the next few weeks have an okay offering, whereas the further away they get the less markets on offer. That’s understandable, and I wouldn’t expect to find round by round and the like for fights that are months away, but I would definitely like more options for big bouts this weekend, and that’s definitely limited, based on my experience with BetAhoy.

Compare to the best boxing betting sites.

Other Sports Betting

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is still a large enough market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG; let’s dig in a bit further.

BetAhoy offers extensive betting options for handball, volleyball, cycling, AFL betting, and esports. Handball includes global competitions; volleyball, covers European Championships and various tournaments; cycling features future tours and current races; AFL betting has comprehensive stats and esports offers all major games like League of Legends and CS:GO.

🗳️ Political Betting

BetAhoy has its political betting under its own Politics tab. At the time of the review there isn’t a huge amount of political betting to be had generally, so this is actually a pretty good offering generally. There are future markets on the UK in terms of next permanent leaders, and then there are markets for Australia and Germany. These are the ones on the upcoming political agenda, so it’s nice to see BetAhoy moving with the upcoming news cycle.

🎭 Entertainment and Specials Betting

Jake Ashton

Jake Ashton

- Your Betting Odds Guide 👍

You’ll find the relevant markets under the Specials tab. This is pretty basic, with just a few different markets included. There is BBC Sports Personality of the Year, Britain’s Got Talent and odds on the next actor to play James Bond. With plenty of other TV shows on at the moment, and award ceremonies on the horizon I’d definitely like to see more.

Compare to the best entertainment betting sites.

Casino

BetAhoy does have casino. Despite the name of the brand, it's incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banners across the top. They also have some bonuses and offers that lead to casino spins should you win sportsbook bets. Check our Casino Sites page for dedicated new online casinos and slot sites.

Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen BetAhoy has their “JOIN” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

As mentioned, there is no BetAhoy app, but the mobile version of the site is really good and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been built to cover all bases. It does exactly what you want and that is not to feel too far removed when you switch from one device to the next, but also being product-led, and designed to suit its purpose as a proper mobile version.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to BetAhoy I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very good indeed.

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the mobile version, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like BetAhoy has got this part nailed.

BetAhoy Responsible Gambling Features

As with all online betting companies, responsible gambling should be and will be an essential element of the service provided.
