Advantages and Disadvantages

All explained in greater detail in this review, these pros and cons allow users to scan and understand where the strengths lie quickly.

Pros

  • Amazing market depth across multiple sports

  • Good in-play statistics

  • Great coverage of niche sports

Cons

  • Lack of promotions

Who Are Neptune Play?

Neptune Play Casino is an Aspire Global site, who have a great track record of producing very popular online sportsbooks and casinos – for the former think mr.play, Betiton and Bzeebet. This particular product leans on its Las Vegas theme and their approach to games follows suit.

  • Established in 2020

  • AG Communications Ltd

  • UKGC licence number - 39483

First Impression of Neptune Play

By Luke Bradshaw Lee - This review will reflect the service offered at the time of writing. I signed up on the desktop version of Neptune Play, but also used the mobile version to compare, but there is no app to download.

You could be forgiven, thanks to the name, and perhaps the branding of the casino side of operations, that everything at Neptune Play is very jovial, but the presentation is actually quite data-driven and business like. Once you’ve selected “Sport” at the very top menu, you’ll immediately be taken to all the in-play markets. The menu down the side immediately conveys just how many sports, competitions and events are covered here. I also really like the slider on the menu bar to move from different time frames: today, three days, this week etc.

If you’ve used any other Aspire Global sportsbooks, especially mr.play, you’ll feel at home here.

Neptune Play Live Betting

There’s so much here, and most of it is very good indeed. As discussed above, the in-play markets are where you’re directed to from the off, something that is fairly standard across most sportsbooks and you can then choose to navigate from this page. There are some sports not featured here, snooker for example, which does suggest that the coverage isn’t quite as broad as I first thought, but there’s three different esports covered, which is quite refreshing to see.

See if they make it into our best bookmakers for in-play betting.

Neptune Play Live Streaming

Neptune Play doesn’t offer any live streaming at the time of this review.

Neptune Play Betting Odds

After looking across other bookmakers in the UK, plus going through some comparison sites, it seems as though that the odds offered at Neptune Play are fairly competitive. We checked football, tennis and cricket for in-play odds, plus horse racing, basketball and rugby for pre-match and ante post odds. They’re generally pretty good and because they cover sports like floorball and stock car racing, will have odds on events that other bookies simply don’t cover at all.

Neptune Play Betting App or Mobile Site

The mobile version is nearly identical to the desktop version of the site. One thing I really like is the main sports menu is an additional menu bar (I can’t see anything like this on desktop) of news-relevant tournaments. So right now there is the Super Bowl, the Six Nations, AFCON, the Premier League and a few others. There’s no separation of sports, just the most relevant right now, and I assume this updates automatically. It’s a great little feature.

Neptune Play Football Betting

Neptune Play doesn’t quite make our best football betting sites in the UK, but they’re not far off to be honest. The menu panel is telling me that there’s 1778 different games that I can bet on at this moment in time, and that’ll compete with anyone. Beyond that, you can’t argue with the market depth, which is very impressive.

Bet Builder

Neptune Play has a bet builder function, and it’s fine, but could be improved if I’m being totally honest. I’d say it’s about mid-level, and would definitely be better if there were some more markets to add into individual bet builders. That said, these may increase the closer we get to kick-off for each game.

Bonuses

The bonuses at Neptune Play are limited. There is a welcome bonus to take advantage of, but it stops there after that. So that means no promotions for returning, loyal customers which is a huge miss.

Cash Out

Cashout is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it's crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. Neptune Play have done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

Neptune Play Horse Racing

Neptune Play’s horse racing offering is fine. We’ve already highlighted the fact that there are no promotions. The actual odds are pretty good, but there’s no BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed), which is a bit of a let down. I’m not convinced that they cover all UK meets either, because today there are three meets on in the UK (Market Rasen, Taunton and Wolverhampton), but only two are listed here, which does seem a bit odd. See how they compare to our top 10 best betting sites for BOG.

Neptune Play US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available. We’ll check out the major leagues, but also look into the sports further down the pyramid and, as well as across the globe.

American Football Betting

Unfortunately, Neptune Play does something that is a real bugbear of mine when it comes to American sports, well certainly American football and basketball. When you see the event (a specific game) it only lists the winner and total. This is better than just displaying the result market, which some do, but what it really should show is three markets: spread, total and moneyline (result). You can see these once you click through, but it’s not how bettors on these sports bet.

That said, there are an absolute tonne of markets here, including next season’s outrights and NFL Draft markets, which is great to have. It’s worth checking out our best NFL betting sites to see how Neptune Play compares.

Basketball Betting

I think Neptune Play has a great selection of basketball leagues to bet on, there are hundreds and hundreds of markets. There’s obviously the NBA, but Neptune Play covers a wide range of EuroLeague and domestic world competitions, including competitions in Turkey, Indonesia, Finland, Slovakia and Argentinal, among others. There are also plenty of markets per game, with game, team and player markets covered really nicely.

Baseball Betting

Neptune Play obviously covers the MLB, but they also have markets for the Japanese and South Korean leagues. The markets, and the odds, especially on the outrights, look really good. The MLB season hasn’t quite kicked off at the time of writing, but there is still a healthy amount of things to bet on, such as individual awards and the like. Keep tabs on the top baseball betting sites though, to see why they make it onto our list.

Ice Hockey Betting

The NHL takes up the bulk of space here, as expected. But there are also some Finnish, Swiss, and German fixtures included, among others. I selected an upcoming NHL game and there are loads of markets listed – more than pretty much anywhere else. For the smaller leagues that reduces a bit more, which is understandable. Overall, I think this is better than most from Neptune Play.

Neptune Play Greyhound Betting

Neptune Play has a pretty standard greyhound section within its library. There’s the day’s meets, but also some ante post stuff. There isn’t a great deal beyond that, plus there is no live streaming or Best Odds Guaranteed, so it wouldn’t surprise me if greyhound fans look elsewhere.

Neptune Play Darts Betting

By Matt Edgar, professional darts player – In terms of darts betting sites in the UK, Neptune Play has some ups and downs. The outrights on future events are great, but once you click through to the match ups, this then drops down quite a bit, and I can’t stack any bets within that. Maybe they increase the market number and variety closer to the time of the match, but I’d definitely like to see more earlier on.

Neptune Play Snooker Betting

By Steve Madgwick - As with the best snooker betting sites, there are markets for a few different tournaments, including the World Championships and the Champions League. At the time of the review we’re in the middle of the Champions League, which I can’t live stream unfortunately, but I do like the amount of markets per game that they offer, and generally the odds are pretty good.

Neptune Play Rugby Betting (Union & League)

By Luke Bradshaw Lee - This has pretty much every competition – domestic and international – that you’d want to bet on here, which is fantastic. And that goes for rugby union and rugby league. If I were being super picky it would be great to see the Japanese league here, given how popular it is becoming, but that is me being hyper critical because overall, this is excellent event coverage compared to other bookies. What lets it down, however, and seems at odds with other sports, is market depth per game isn’t great. See how they compare to our best Rugby betting sites.

Neptune Play Cricket Betting

By James Banting - This is pretty nice because Neptune Play offers all the competitions that I’d expect to see, plus some more in addition to that – not everywhere covers the Oman D10 League, for example. I also love how many markets are available here for each game, assuming it’s not miles away in the future before teams are announced etc.

Neptune Play Tennis Betting

By James Banting - At the time of review their tennis section has 264 different tennis markets to bet on, which is fantastic. These games obviously cover the world, with the Grand Slams right down to smaller Challenger events. The odds are good, and there’s plenty of markets, but I’d like to see more in-play markets. There’s no live streaming, but the stats that feature are pretty good. See if they make it into the top 10 tennis betting sites on OLBG.

Neptune Play Golf Betting

By James Banting - Neptune Play’s golf offering is a little disappointing. There are only markets for the majors and the Ryder Cup, and those are just basic outrights. There are a few smaller tournaments happening right now, or due to start soon, such as the Phoenix Open, Astara Championship or Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, and none of these are listed in any form. I’d like to see a good bit more for me to consider using them consistently.

Neptune Play Motorsports Betting

By Andy Powell - The motor sports here are okay. Everything is it’s own thing, rather than housed under a “motor sports” banner, but I can see Formula 1, obviously, on top of Speedway and Indy racing. There’s nothing in the way of bikes, such as MotoGP, or any NASCAR, which is a little annoying, especially when something as niche as stock car racing is included. Overall I am impressed with the detail in the Formula 1 markets, and if I ever choose to make a stock car bet I know where to come.

Neptune Play Boxing Betting

By Frank Monkhouse former professional boxer - There’s lots of boxing bouts to get stuck into here, and the markets look dependent on timings. Those this weekend and over the next few weeks have an okay offering, whereas the further away they get the less markets on offer. That’s understandable, and I wouldn’t expect to find round by round and the like for fights that are months away, but I would definitely like more options for big bouts this weekend, and that’s definitely limited based on my experience with Neptune Play.

Other Sports Betting

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is a massive market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG.

Other Sports at Neptune Play 🌍🏀🏐🚴🎮

Neptune Play offers diverse betting options: handball 🏆, volleyball 🏐, cycling 🚴, Aussie rules 🏉, and esports 🎮. Explore global matches, detailed stats, and infinite markets.

Neptune Play offers extensive betting options for Handball, volleyball, cycling, AFL betting, and esports. Handball includes global competitions; volleyball, covers European Championships and various tournaments; cycling features future tours and current races; AFL betting has comprehensive stats and esports offers all major games like League of Legends and CS:GO.

Political Betting

By Nigel Skinner - Neptune Play houses its political betting under “Specials”, along with Entertainment. The political betting is fine, maybe a little limited perhaps. There are some US Presidential markets, understandably, and odds on the next Mayor of London, but it fizzles out after that. I’m surprised that there’s nothing in the way of the UK General Election, or next Prime Minister odds, but for US stuff it’s not bad.

Entertainment and Specials Betting

By Jake Ashton - This is a bit basic from Neptune Play, with some music, award ceremonies and TV programmes covered. It’s tricky trying to work out what determines the offering because things like The Oscars and BAFTAs make sense, but Big Brother Brazil and Festival Di SanRemo seem a little out of place.

Casino

Neptune Play does have casino, which is incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banners across the top. They also have some bonuses and offers that lead to casino spins should you win sportsbook bets. Check our Casino Sites page for dedicated new online casinos and slot sites.

Neptune Play Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen Neptune Play has their “Open Account” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

I’m surprised that there is no app, because other Aspire Global brands have apps that work well and that I like. That said, I do like the user experience of Neptune Play, and I think the same for their other sportsbooks that use the same interface. It can take a little getting used to – especially the way the menu drops down, rather than takes you through to another page, but once you get the hang of it I think it works really well, and does a great job of conveying what is available very quickly.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to Neptune Play I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed.

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like Neptune Play has got this part nailed.

Neptune Play Responsible Gambling Features

As with all online betting companies, responsible gambling should be and will be an essential element of the service provided.

Expect KYC procedures and document supply as a matter-of-course, to confirm your account after you have deposited a certain level of funds and in the event of any large wins.

You can set limits for yourself across depositing options and daily staking options too, so you can set your levels and keep control of your gambling.

Expect Neptune Play to contact you via your preferred communication method if there are suspicious activities on your account. This protects your account from being accessed by someone other than you and ensures you control your gambling activity. Neptune Play have a legal obligation to question your activity if they believe it to be suspicious.

As part of Neptune Play's commitment to safer gambling, they aim to make zero revenue from harmful gambling by the end of 2023.

Neptune Play Review Summary

Bettors of certain sports have to consider having an account with Neptune Play because there are simply markets here that you won’t find anywhere else, or at the very least, will struggle to find anywhere else.

For most major sports (although there are some exceptions) there are way more markets than many other bookies in the country, and there are some very niche sports here that aren’t covered by the majority of competitors such as bandy, chess, lacrosse, water polo and winter sports.

That’s the good part. It is worth noting, however, that there is zero in the way of promotions beyond the sign up offer, however, which will put some people off. If that’s not a problem, then there’s a very good chance that players will find what they’re after, because they haven’t seen it elsewhere and end up loving it.
