2027 Dublin Chase Preview

One of the newest Grade 1 races run at the Dublin Racing Festival is the Dublin Chase. The first renewal took place in 2018 when Willie Mullins' Min won her first of two renewals (2018 & 2019)

The race was originally a Grade 2 but was upgraded to Grade 1 status in 2019, and as the name would suggest is a chase. It is run over two miles and one furlong, during which the runners will face eleven fences.

How competitive is the Dublin Chase market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 9 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2022 when the race had an over-round of 109%. The race in 2018 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 116%, whilst on average over the last 9 renewals of the Dublin Chase, the over-round has been 112%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £112 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2027 Dublin Chase Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Dublin Chase Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Dublin Chase races over the last 9 renewals:

  1. Min (4:00.80) in 2019
  2. Solness (4:07.40) in 2025
  3. Chacun Pour Soi (4:11.40) in 2020

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 9 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Dublin Chase next time out, then you would have backed a total of 1 winner. Backing all 8 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -6.80. Before placing your bet on the 2027 Dublin Chase, see which other runners today are being backed on the racing predictions page.

The runner that holds the record over the past 9 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2021 renewal when Chacun Pour Soi from W P Mullins under the guidance of Paul Townend, won in a time of 4:24.80, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Min, trained by W P Mullins and ridden by R Walsh set the quickest time of 4:00.80 in the 2019 renewal.

What the expert says...
The one obvious observation is that Willie Mullins has won eight of the nine renewals of this race! Between 2018 & 2025, six of the winners went on to run in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham with results of 243UP4, so not brilliant.
