The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2024 renewal when Dancing City from W P Mullins under the guidance of Danny Mullins, won in a time of 5:52.20, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Lets Dance, trained by W P Mullins and ridden by R Walsh set the quickest time of 4:41.00 in the 2017 renewal.

What the expert says...
This used to be a decent race to follow form with five of the seven winners between 2005 & 2011 going on to win next time out. However, between 2012 & 2024, Let's Dance (2017) has been the only winner to win next time out winning the Mares Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham. In that time, six have gone to the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle and five to the Baring Bingham Novices Hurdle without success.
