How competitive is the Bowl Chase market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2010 when the race had an over-round of 107%. The race in 2016 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 118%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Bowl Chase, the over-round has been 112%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £112 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2026 Bowl Chase Trends, see which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal, we also have a section that looks at the Bowl Chase Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Bowl Chase over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Silviniaco Conti (6:15.70) in 2015
  2. Shishkin (6:20.94) in 2023
  3. Silviniaco Conti (6:21.80) in 2014

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? From the past 20 if you had followed the winner of the Bowl Chase next time out then you would have backed a total of 2 winners. Backing all 19 runners who have been out since to win at SP next time out, would have returned an LSP of -12.04. Whilst we wait for the 2026 Bowl Chase remember you can get daily racing predictions from the expert tipsters on the racing predictions page.

The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2024 renewal when Gerri Colombe from Gordon Elliott under the guidance of Jack Kennedy, won in a time of 6:51.54, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Silviniaco Conti, trained by Paul Nicholls and ridden by Noel Fehily set the quickest time of 6:15.70 in the 2015 renewal.

What the expert says...
The Cheltenham Gold Cup has produced eleven of the last twenty winners of the Bowl Chase, it produced every winner between 2014 & 2019, however, only one of the last five winners competed in the Gold Cup last time. The King George VI Chase is another popular route, ten winners of this race ran it within their last three starts with four of those winning that race also.
