The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2024 renewal when Diva Luna from Ben Pauling under the guidance of Kielan Woods, won in a time of 4:27.51, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Hollies Pearl, trained by Peter Bowen and ridden by Sean Bowen set the quickest time of 3:56.00 in the 2015 renewal.

What the expert says...
You don't get many heading into this race off the back of a festival run, The Glancing Queen (2019) was the last winner who did run there but there is no 'prep race' for this one really although the Mares NHF race at Market Rasen has now provided the two of the last three winners, Dysart Enos (2023) and Diva Luna (2024) both won that race before coming here to win.
