Betting specials now given around inflation rates rising

The UK has seen inflation rates rise for the second month in-a-row towards the end of 2024 with the current rate hitting 2.6% in the year up to November.

Betting sites are now offering odds on what rate it will hit in 2025 with the latest market now going 7/1 that the inflation rates rise above 5% in the next 12 months.

Inflation has dropped off significantly since it hit the highs of 11.1% in October 2022 which was the highest rate it had been at in 40 years.

The Bank of England set a target of 2% inflation in the UK and now William Hill's latest specials give odds on the Inflation Rate hitting 5% and 10% at some point in 2025.

Latest betting odds suggest a 12.5% that the UK's inflation rate hits 5% in 2025 with just a 5.9% chance of it hitting 10% at some point in the next 12 months.

The Office of National Statistics (ONS) tracks the prices of hundreds of household items and monitors those changes over the past 12 months to calculate inflation.

The 12 month period in the lead up to November saw prices in the UK go up by 2.6% which is the highest since March 2024.

Betting odds shown above suggest there's a decent chance that the inflation rate rises above both 5% and 10% in 2025.
