The Venice International Film Festival kicks off this week with the world's oldest film festival once again seeing a whole host of movies aired across the week.
The Golden Lion is the highest prize that is awarded at the festival with the prize given to the best movie that is shown across the festival and decided by a jury.
Poor Things won the award at last year's show before being nominated for the Best Picture award at the Oscars and we could see another Academy Awards competitor win here.
Daniel Craig's latest movie Queer is the 5/2 favourite to win the Golden Lion award at the Venice Film Festival with director of the festival Alberto Barbera telling The Hollywood Reporter that it is the performance of a lifetime from the actor.
Betting Sites go 5/2 that Queer wins the Golden Lion with an implied probability of 28.6% that the movie is crowned winner.

The Room Next Door is the English-language full-length debut by Spanish director Pedro AlmodĂłvar and is one of those films with big pre-festival hype.
We could well see the movie receive the Golden Lion award in Venice with the ceremony expected to take place on September 7.
Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton star in the movie in the two lead roles with the story based on the novel What Are You Going Through by Sigrid Nunez.

Golden Lion award handed out at the Venice Film Festival which is set to take place over the coming days
2024's Venice Film Festival will be the 81st annual edition of the famous festival and is expected to last from today, 28 August, to 7 September.
Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will kick off the festival by premiering later this evening, with Pupi Avati's The American Backyard closing things.
Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement will also be awarded at the festival with Sigourney Weaver and Peter Weir both receiving the award this year.
