Full NRG.Bet Bookmaker Review
As with most bookies, there’s some positives and negatives for NRG.bet, so first the good. The layout and design of both the website (mobile and desktop) and the app is fantastic. Bettors will feel familiar, find what they’re after easily, and have zero issues with glitches, lags or pop-ups getting in their way. The offers and bonuses are clear, without being intrusive, and skipping from one section to the next is super easy.
The in-play options on some of the sports have good graphics and supporting stats – golf and tennis, in particular – while some sports are covered really well market/odds wise, such as darts and snooker, and the offers are decent. Lastly, the virtual offering is very good.
The downside is that generally the odds are fine, but there’s nothing that really stands out as great value, and the same could be said for the welcome offer, specifically. On top of that, some sports simply aren’t there, like table tennis or, more surprisingly, esports. That seems a bit of a miss.
NRG.bet Review Summary
There are definitely some things to work on for NRG.bet but, overall, bettors can very happy with what they get from a decent betting product.
Advantages and Disadvantages
All explained in greater detail in this review, these pros and cons allow users to scan and understand where NRG.bet's strengths lie quickly.
Pros
Great customer service
Excellent app and website design
Fantastic in-play graphics for golf betting
Cons
No esports available
Established in 2021
Operated by Sharedbet Limited
First Impression of NRG.bet
Live Betting
On a weekday morning in the UK there is, thankfully, the usual selection of what regular bettors expect. So football and tennis of course, plus some golf and cricket. A quick look at some other bookies at the same time suggest there aren’t the sheer number of markets within different sports – no badminton, bowls or hockey – but there’s a decent enough offering.
Tennis and golf particularly stand out, with additional stats and infographics supporting the in-play sections – both moving swiftly with nothing in the way of glitches or lag.
Live Streaming
As it stands NRG.bet offers live streaming on horse racing only. This is across desktop, mobile and their app and covers all UK and Irish races and events. It’s worth noting that the quality of the stream that I watched was excellent.
Betting Odds
We compared NRG.bet’s odds to a few other bookies and news is pretty decent overall. We checked football, racing, rugby and tennis (in-play and pre-match). They’re competitive, and as a punter you’d be happy going with them, but there’s nothing that is market-leading and absolutely grabs you.
Also, remember that it is always worth checking alternative betting options, including best spread betting sites and betting exchange sites, depending on who you are as a bettor.
Betting App or Mobile Site
This NRG.bet review is undertaken across the app, as much as the desktop version, as much as possible, and the app is a real thumbs up. As a regular bettor, it feels and behaves exactly how you want it to and there are no instances that really jar. It’s hard to judge for total novices, but I’d be very surprised if a betting newbie couldn’t navigate easily through the options and find what they are after. Overall, it’s a real strongpoint of the bookmaker. Se if it makes it into our best betting apps list.
⚽ Football Betting
A British sportsbook that doesn’t have a decent football offering is always a worry and, thankfully, NRG.bet doesn’t fall into this category. There is pretty much everything that football punters want in terms of event coverage and market depth. Divided up clearly into sensible sections (UK, European Elite, Rest of Europe, Rest of World etc.), with different markets navigation available underneath bettors can find the markets that they’re after super quickly and with next to no fuss. This doesn’t change across in-play and overall, this looks like an experienced team has put the package together.
Bet Builder
All games with bet builder available have a small “B” logo displayed underneath, and this can be seen across most games. It’s once you start getting into non-league, or Rest of the World games that this begins to disappear. There’s an absolute load of markets within the feature which is great to see, although one criticism is that they’re not grouped, so it may take a little longer to find “player markets” for example.
Bonuses
NRG.bet runs a generous number of bonuses that are either football-specific, or incorporate football into them. There’s an acca bonus that boosts winnings up to 50% if you’ve staked £5 or more, a loyalty bonus that involves a free weekly £10 bet if you place 10 £10+ bets throughout the week, and a bet builder offer on this evening’s Championship game in which you get half your stake back if your bet loses.
In addition to that, you’ll find a “PRICE BOOSTS” option in the main sports menu down the left-hand side. All in all, it’s a very satisfatory offering.
Cash Out
Cash Out is available at NRG.bet. It’s a feature that has become an absolute staple of bookmakers, and it’s great to see that here it’s no different. The cash out offered on one of the bets I placed wasn’t amazing, but in truth, that’s par for the course with the feature and it’s very rare to get amazing cash out offers, even at the best of times.
🏇 Horse Racing
The horse racing section at NRG.bet all makes sense. As expected, “Next Off” makes up the main section of the page, but it’s easy to move across and find all the meets for the day. This goes across the world, too, not just UK and Irish races. For example, Mizusawa and Fort Erie were among those on my page at the time of review.
Under that is an A-Z, with Quick Picks, Build a Racecard and Ante Post options all available. The odds are competitive, but, as mentioned, not the market-leading. You can live stream all domestic races if you’re logged in, and the small price history data graph is a lovely little touch.
This bookie offers daily racing specials, which is good to see, although there isn’t a load of racing offers/bonuses and NRG.bet doesn’t offer Best Odds Guaranteed.
🇺🇸 US Sports Betting
🏈 American Football Betting
UK bookmakers can sometimes “Anglicise” American sports in an attempt to make them seemingly more attractive to UK users, and it never works. One example is just posting the moneyline odds for games on the main page, but I’m pleased to report NRG.bet doesn’t do this, it does exactly the right thing instead. Moneyline is obviously there, but it sits alongside the spread and totals, as it should. You want the three main markets listed from the off. The game markets look good overall, but only for teams. There is a distinct lack of player props, and that goes for outrights also. Case in point, I couldn’t find odds for the Heisman Trophy, or any DPOY, or MVP odds, all of which is a glaring miss.
There are plenty of NFL markets, as well as CFL (Canadian Football League), which is an added bonus. It’s worth checking out our best NFL betting sites to see how NRG.bet compares overall.
🏀 Basketball Betting
As well as the NBA, NRG.bet covers a wide range of European leagues, which is great to see. At the time of writing there are markets for Great Britain, Sweden, Latvia, Poland and Germany. In addition to that there is also the WNBA and while the number of markets per game isn’t as large as the NBA, it’s still pretty good, especially when you consider that some bookies don’t cover the WNBA at all. Keep tabs on the top basketball betting sites though, to see if they make it onto our list.
⚾ Baseball Betting
NRG.bet's baseball section is okay. Across its US sports markets it's the same story in a lack of player bets. There’s nothing for Player Bases, Hits, Walks Issued, Strikeouts etc or any player prop market which is frustrating. The markets that they do have for games is decent aside from that, but nothing to write home about.
🏒 Ice Hockey Betting
This is maybe the most limited offering of the major US sports. There aren't as many competitions, or markets per competition, and there is nothing in the way of boosts or promotions of any kind. The good news is that you get quite a bit more in the way of statistics when compared to basketball or baseball, for example, but overall this feels a bit like it’s just ticking along.
🐕 Greyhound Betting
The greyhound betting is exceptional at NRG.bet, and that's down to the on track experience of those at the company. There's a full selection of all the day meets, as well as easy access to antepost stuff the next day from the main menu. Each meet has win and each way markets, as well as forecast and tricast options. You can do their quick picks, or build a racecard and personalise your betting for the day ahead.
🎯 Darts Betting
Compare to the best darts betting sites in the UK.
Snooker Betting
I am always on the lookout to determine which are the best snooker betting sites.
🏉 Rugby Betting (Union & League)
by Luke Bradshaw Lee - Unfortunately the rugby offering at NRG.bet is a little disappointing. It’s okay in terms of event coverage, but not incredible – there’s no domestic France leagues or Japanese league for example – but everything else is there. The odds aren’t brilliant. Good enough to bet generally, but not the longest that you’ll find from a sportsbook. There also needs to be more markets per match, because once you select a game there is nothing in the way of player markets for try scorer or points scorer and the like. See how they compare to best Rugby betting sites.
🏏 Cricket Betting
Betway currently tops our Best Cricket betting site right now, with huge market depth, great odds and lots of promotions, so perhaps NRG.bet can follow their lead and up their offering.
🎾 Tennis Betting
By James Banting - The tennis betting at NRG.bet is decent overall. Across the site it’s definitely one of the better sports in terms of in-play coverage, and includes a live tracker with match stats once you’ve clicked through to the match’s markets. The odds are good, especially the in-play ones.
There could be more events offered, and more market depth, but based on what is there it’s definitely above average. Annoyingly I can’t find anything in the way of tennis promotions, or even bet boosts, so that’s definitely something that would raise them in my eyes. If they could add in more markets, and some tennis-specific promotions, they’d definitely be closer to getting into the top 10 tennis betting sites on OLBG.
🏌️ Golf Betting
By James Banting - Current events look great, with theShopRite LPGA Classic and American Family Insurance Championship both listed among odds for the majors, Ryder and Solheim Cups and LIV tournaments. I really like the leaderboard for in-play events, with play by play info displayed that is better than most. On top of that, you can select specific holes, see their layout, and how the current players on that hole are going round. Generally, it’s all pretty excellent, and I’ll be coming back.
🏎️ Motorsports Betting
🥊 Boxing Betting
Other Sports Betting
Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is a massive market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG; let’s dig in.

Casino
NRG.bet does have casino. Despite the name of the brand, it's incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banned across the top. They also have some bonuses and offers that lead to casino spins should you win sportsbook bets. Check our Casino Sites page for dedicated new online casinos and slot sites.
Account Opening Process
A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen Planet Sports Bet has their “Sign Up” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.
Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]
The navigation, and the general app design is very good. You can look at it two ways: as a complete betting novice, or as an experienced bettor who has accounts elsewhere.
For the former, everything would feel intuitive. There’s a menu of sports down the left hand side, and offers down the right, with the main panel of markets front and centre. If you're struggling or lost at any point, there’s a search function in the top left of the screen that will allow you to immediately find where you’re going (or see that it's not there and stop your search).
For the experienced bettor, everything will feel familiar. There’s no attempt to jazz things up for the sake of being different – this is how you’d want it, and what you’ll be used to from a number of other sportsbooks.
Placing a bet
This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to NRG.bet I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed.
Managing your account
As mentioned above, the design really makes this tick. On the desktop version, it’s stuff left and right of screen (menu and search to the left, account and bets to the right). On the app, it’s top and bottom, with search, account and bets at the top, with a main nav bar at the bottom that can get you to different sports, in-play options and casino (plus return to the home page).
I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like NRG.bet has got this part nailed.
Responsible Gambling Features
As with all online betting companies, responsible gambling should be and will be an essential element of the service provided.
Expect KYC procedures and document supply as a matter-of-course, to confirm your account after you have deposited a certain level of funds and in the event of any large wins.
You can set limits for yourself across depositing options and daily staking options too, so you can set your levels and keep control of your gambling.
Expect NRG.bet to contact you via your preferred communication method if there are suspicious activities on your account. This protects your account from being accessed by someone other than you and ensures you control your gambling activity. NRG.bet have a legal obligation to question your activity if they believe it to be suspicious.
As part of NRG.bet's commitment to safer gambling, they aim to make zero revenue from harmful gambling by the end of 2023.
