Full Luckster Sports Bookmaker Review

If you like betting on minor sports, or niche events, then Luckster should be an absolute go-to. There are sports here that pretty much no other bookie offers odds on, and its not just a couple, with at least seven or eight sports that are genuinely unique to Luckster and other Aspire Global brands.

There are, however, some that are very limited. Horse racing, greyhound racing and a couple of others aren’t good enough to bet regularly with. And for the US sports, while the actual content is fine there’s too many product/style issues that mean it won’t compete against better services.

There is a lack of promotions beyond the sign up offer, which will put some people off. If that’s not a problem, then there’s a very good chance that players will find what they’re after, because they haven’t seen it elsewhere, and end up loving it.

Luckster Review Summary

In terms of choosing Luckster over other AG brands, that will probably come down to a branding/style choice, and plenty of people will love the classic luck of the Irish on show here.

Advantages and Disadvantages

All explained in greater detail in this review, these pros and cons allow users to scan and understand where the strengths lie quickly.

Pros

  • Great market depth across different sports

  • Good esports offering

  • Great coverage of niche sports

Cons

  • Lack of promotions

Who are Luckster?

Luckster hasn't been around for that long, but comes from Aspire Global, so has the backing of a company that has a great track record at launching and running bookies. This is the company responsible for a multitude of successful bookies and casinos, but for the former think the likes of mr.play, Betiton and Neptune Play. Since its arrival Luckster has built a reputation for great football betting and coverage of minor sports.

Luckster Live Betting

As mentioned above, the in-play markets are where you’re directed to from the off, something that is fairly normal across most sportsbooks, allowing you to then choose to navigate from this page. There are some sports not featured here, snooker for example, which does suggest that the coverage isn’t quite as broad as I first thought, but there’s different esports and badminton covered, which is a theme that we’ll see continue. You can check if they make it into our best bookmakers for in-play betting here.

Luckster Live Streaming

Luckster doesn’t offer any live streaming at the time of this review.

Luckster Betting Odds

Comparing Luckster’s odds to that of other bookies, as well as checking some comparison sites, Luckster – like other Aspire Global brands – offers very solid across the board . We checked football, tennis and cricket for in-play odds, plus horse racing, greyhounds and darts for pre-match and ante post odds. What’s worth highlighting is that Luckster offers odds on some very niche sports (pesapallo and stock car racing, for example), so will be one of the few places you can find odds on such sports at all.

Also, remember that it is always worth checking alternative betting options, including best spread betting sites and betting exchange sites, depending on who you are as a bettor.

Luckster Betting App or Mobile Site

In the intro I mentioned that there is no app, which is definitely disappointing. The mobile version is basically identical to the desktop version of the site. That said, on the mobile version there is an additional menu bar across the top for time sensitive tournaments, or competitions that are trending, meaning you don’t need to go through a few different pages to get to something that may be starting in the next few hours. It’s varied so includes (at the time of writing) the NBA play-offs, the Champions League, domestic rugby tournaments and the NHL, among others. It’s very handy. See how it compares to the best betting apps in the UK.

Luckster Football Betting

We rank every bookie, at every sport, and Luckster doesn’t quite make our best football betting sites in the UK, but it’s still very good. The menu panel is telling me that there’s well over a thousand different games that I can bet on at this moment in time, and that’ll compete with anyone. Beyond that, you can’t argue with the market depth, which is also very impressive.

Bet Builder

I think on the whole, Aspire have improved their bet builder across most brands, because this is definitely better than similar products that I remember. The bet builder function works really well, and has more markets than you initially think – selecting certain markets bring about additional drop-downs and more markets. There’s plenty of player markets – something that can sometimes be overlooked – and it’s hard to fault.

Bonuses

It’s always a little disconcerting when a bookie lists features such as cash out and bet builder in their promotions page, because these are fairly standard across the board and it’s definitely a stretch to call them promotions. Luckster claims that they reward loyal customers with additional bonuses, which is good to hear, but I’d definitely like to see some more in the way of promotions from the off.

Cash Out

Cashout is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it's crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. Luckster have done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

Luckster Horse Racing

Luckster’s horse racing offering is fine. We’ve already highlighted the fact that there are next to no promotions on any sports really. The actual odds for horse racing are quite good, but there’s no BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed), which is a bit of a let down. There’s also a distinct lack of meets covered. Today, for example, there are races at Kempton, Yarmouth, Southwell and Ayr, but none of those are here at Luckster, who just have odds for the Epsom Derby. This could definitely be better, and you can see how they compare to our top 10 best betting sites for BOG.

Luckster US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available. We’ll check out the major leagues, but also look into the sports further down the pyramid and, as well as across the globe.

American Football Betting

Unfortunately, Luckster does something that is a real bugbear of mine when it comes to American sports, well certainly American football and basketball. When you see the event (a specific game) it only lists the winner and total. This is better than just displaying the result market, which some do, but what it really should show is three markets: spread, total and moneyline (result). You can see these once you click through, but it’s not how bettors on these sports bet, and calling it Asian Handicap (I know this works in almost exactly the same way) instead of “Spread” jars. The good news is that there are absolutely loads of markets here, including next season’s outrights and NFL Draft markets, which is great to have. It’s worth checking out our best NFL betting sites to see how Luckster compares.

Basketball Betting

Luckster offers a great basketball betting option for beginners, or those looking for a new bookie to sign up to. The welcome offer is simple, the registration process is even easier, and there’s a user-friendly interface awaiting you upon arrival. Luckster’s range of basketball betting markets is among the best in the UK, with global options (FIBA Champions League, Chinese and Australian leagues, among others). It makes our Top 10 for basketball betting, and you can see why, in more detail, in the chart below.

Baseball Betting

Luckster obviously covers the MLB, but they also have markets for the Japanese and South Korean leagues. The markets, and the odds, especially on the outrights, look excellent. The MLB season is well underway and there are loads of things to bet on, including individual awards, as well as all the usual game markets. Keep tabs on the top baseball betting sites though, to see why they make it onto our list.

Ice Hockey Betting

The NHL takes up the bulk of space here, as expected. But there are also some Finnish, Australian, and German fixtures included, among others. I selected an upcoming NHL game and there are loads of markets listed – more than pretty much anywhere else. For the smaller leagues that reduces a bit more, which is understandable. Overall, I’m struggling to think of any other bookies that have as many markets per game, apart from other Aspire brands.

Luckster Greyhound Betting

This isn’t great, and I’d be surprised if any big greyhound bettors are coming to Luckster. There are some odds for the English Greyhounds Derby and that’s it. There’s obviously no Best Odds Guaranteed, but there are around 15 different tracks across the UK with races on today, let alone abroad, and none are featured here. It’s obviously a conscious decision to not attack greyhound racing properly, because i doesn’t match the effort across a lot of other sports.

Luckster Darts Betting

By Matt Edgar, professional darts player – Compared to other darts betting sites in the UK, Luckster has some positives and negatives. The outrights on future events are great, but once you click through to the match ups the number of markets drops quite a lot, and I can’t stack any bets within that. Maybe they increase the market number and variety closer to the time of the match, but I’d definitely like to see more earlier on.

Luckster Snooker Betting

By Steve Madgwick - As with the best snooker betting sites, there are markets for a few different tournaments, including the World Championships and the Champions League. At the time of the review we’re in the middle of the Champions League, which I can’t live stream unfortunately, but I do like the amount of markets per game that they offer, and generally the odds are pretty good.

Luckster Rugby Betting (Union & League)

By Luke Bradshaw Lee - Overall, this is quite impressive. RUnion and League are split into different categories which, to me, makes sense. For both, there is pretty much every competition that you’d want to be included here, which is brilliant. The only omission to that is the Japanese domestic league, but that’s being very nit-picky, because overall the coverage of competitions is fantastic. What lets it down, however, and seems at odds with other sports, is market depth per game isn’t great. See how they compare to our best Rugby betting sites.

Luckster Cricket Betting

By James Banting - This is pretty nice because Luckster offers all the competitions that I’d expect to see, plus a couple of extras that I wasn’t with some domestic events and leagues all over the globe. I also really like how many markets are available here for each game, assuming it’s not miles away in the future before teams are announced etc. For those that are a bit of a way off, there are still some good futures and antepost markets to take advantage of, so overall I’m pretty happy with the cricket betting here.

Luckster Tennis Betting

By James Banting - At the time of review their tennis section has 286 different tennis markets to bet on, which is fantastic. These games obviously cover the world, with the Grand Slams right down to smaller Challenger events. The odds are good, and there’s plenty of markets, but I’d like to see more in-play markets. There’s no live streaming, but the stats that feature are pretty good. See if they make it into the top 10 tennis betting sites on OLBG.

Luckster Golf Betting

By James Banting - Luckster’s golf offering is about par for the course I reckon. There are futures markets on all the majors (although no Ryder Cup stuff), and there is a selection, around six or seven, of upcoming tournaments of varying importance. Yes, you’ll find a bit more at some other bookies – and it’s worth checking our best golf betting sites to see how Luckster compares – but generally this is fine.

Luckster Motorsports Betting

By Andy Powell - The motor sports here are okay. Everything is it’s own thing, rather than housed under a “motor sports” banner, but I can see Formula 1, obviously, on top of Speedway and Indy racing. There’s nothing in the way of bikes, such as MotoGP, or any NASCAR, which is a little annoying, especially when something as niche as stock car racing is included. Overall I am impressed with the detail in the Formula 1 markets, and if I ever choose to make a stock car bet I know where to come.

Luckster Boxing Betting

By Frank Monkhouse former professional boxer - There’s lots of boxing bouts to get stuck into here, and the markets look dependent on timings. Those this weekend and over the next few weeks have an okay offering, whereas the further away they get the less markets on offer. That’s understandable, and I wouldn’t expect to find round by round and the like for fights that are months away, but I would definitely like more options for big bouts this weekend, and that’s definitely limited based on my experience with Luckster.

Other Sports Betting

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is a massive market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG.

Other Sports at Luckster Sports 🌍🏀🏐🚴🎮

Handball includes global competitions; volleyball, covers European Championships and various tournaments; cycling features future tours and current races; AFL betting has comprehensive stats and esports offers all major games like League of Legends and CS:GO.

Political Betting

By Nigel Skinner - Luckster houses its political betting under “Specials”, along with Entertainment. The political betting is okay, but a bit limited in parts. This is essentially split into UK and US politics, with a decent amount on the General Election, next party leaders and size of majority, and there is a similar offering for the US, but there is nothing from anywhere else around the globe.

Entertainment and Specials Betting

By Jake Ashton - This is a bit basic from Luckster, with some music, award ceremonies and TV programmes covered. It’s tricky trying to work out what determines the offering because things like The Oscars and BAFTAs make sense, but Big Brother Brazil and Festival Di SanRemo seem a little out of place.

Casino

Luckster does have casino, which is incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banners across the top. They also have some bonuses and offers that lead to casino spins should you win sportsbook bets. Check our Casino Sites page for dedicated new online casinos and slot sites.

Luckster Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen Luckster has their “Open Account” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

I’m surprised that there is no app, because other Aspire Global brands have apps that work well and that I like. That said, I do like the user experience of Luckster, and I think the same for their other sportsbooks that use the same interface. It can take a little getting used to – especially the way the menu drops down, rather than takes you through to another page, but once you get the hang of it I think it works really well, and does a great job of conveying what is available very quickly.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to Luckster I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed.

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like Luckster has got this part nailed.

Responsible Gambling Features
