How competitive is the Temple Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2021 when the race had an over-round of 107%. The race in 2017 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 125%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Temple Stakes, the over-round has been 118%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £118 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2026 Temple Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Temple Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Temple Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Bated Breath (56.39) in 2012
  2. Fleeting Spirit (57.15) in 2008
  3. Battaash (57.36) in 2018

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Temple Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 1 winner. Backing all 19 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -14.00. Whilst we wait for the 2026 Temple Stakes, remember you can get daily racing predictions from the expert tipsters on the racing predictions page.

When looking over the past 20 renewals, a time of 56.39 was set by Bated Breath in 2012, which is the quickest time over that period. The runner was trained by Roger Charlton and ridden by George Baker. The slowest winning time was set in 2009 when Look Busy won in a time of 1:04.03, booked to ride was Slade O'Hara by the trainer Alan Berry.

What the expert says...
Every winner between 2010-24 went on to run in the King Charles III Stakes next time out at Royal Ascot, however, of those fourteen winners, it was only Profitable (2016) who managed to go on to win that race.
