2025 Ormonde Stakes Preview

Named after the horse Ormonde who retired unbeaten and won the English Triple Crown in 1886, the Ormonde Stakes is scheduled to take place during the May Meeting at the Chester Racecourse.

The race is a Group 3 that is open to runners aged four or older and is run over a trip of one mile, five furlongs and eighty-four yards.

The race can serve as a trial for the Coronation Cup which is run at Epsom the following month, St Nicholas Abbey (2011) is one runner who has done the double.
