Horse Racing Trainers To Follow June 2025

It's all about the flat for June, four trainers to watch on the turf and one to keep an eye on for the all-weather.

These five trainers have combined for a strike rate of 21% over the past five seasons for the conditions listed as well as an LSP of +420.16.

Here is how the five trainers included below have combined over the past five years:

William Knight (AW - Not a Novice race, no older than 6yo)

Here are the top three winners from William Knight from the past five years when using this criteria:

  • Unit of Assessment (40/1)
  • Shifting Gold (22/1)
  • Libretti (12/1)

The Newmarket trainer seems to enjoy this time of the year on the all-weather, not only is he profitable in May, but even more so in June.

There are a couple of conditions to keep in mind, and that is to ignore anything entered in a novice race and then anything which is aged seven or older, which also has a poor record.

David Loughnane (FLAT - Class 2-5 over 6f to 1m2f)

Here are the top three winners from David Loughnane from the past five years when using this criteria:

  • Santosha (50/1)
  • Anshoda (33/1)
  • Amber Island (28/1)

It seems the yard are at their peak during April, May and June and then tail off over the rest of the year, so last chance to get on their runners.

Here we are focusing on runners in Class 2-5 races, which are run over a distance of 6f to 1m2f.

Richard Hannon (FLAT - 2yos & 3yos in Class 4 Races)

Here are the top three winners from Richard Hannon from the past five years when using this criteria:

  • Forca Timao (40/1)
  • Rhythm (40/1)
  • Groom (16/1)

With so many runners, it can be hard sometimes to find the right angle with the Hannon yard, but this one seems to have worked over the years.

Stick to Class 4 races where Richard enters a 2yo or 3yo runner, those have shown a profit in four of the last five seasons.

John & Thady Gosden (FLAT - 4yo's in Races over 1m+)

Here are the top three winners from John & Thady Gosden from the past five years when using this criteria:

  • Amtiyaz (33/1)
  • Indie Angel (22/1)
  • Fanny Logan (17/2)

Gosden probably won't be on everyone's shortlist, considering June is their second-worst month in terms of strike rate, but if you filter carefully, you can find an angle.

Each of the last five seasons have all shown a profit if you had followed their 4yo runners in races over one mile or further.

George Boughey (FLAT - Class 2 Races over 5f - 1m2f)

Here are the top three winners from George Boughey from the past five years when using this criteria:

  • Navello (25/1)
  • Soprano (14/1)
  • Cadillac (12/1)

June is the most profitable month for the Newmarket trainer George Boughey compared to the rest of the year, so it's a good month to follow this yard.

Each of the last four seasons they have shown a profit when focusing on their runners entered in class two races over 5f up to and including 1m2f.

Horse Racing Trainers to Follow July 2025

Given the time of the year, it is no surprise that four of the five trainers for July come on the flat, although the most profitable of the five is actually over the jumps.

These five trainers have combined for an LSP of +484.05 over the previous five seasons based on the criteria listed below, with a strike rate of 27%, that is one winner for every four runners.

Here is how the five trainers included below have combined over the past five years:

Here are the top three winners from Neil Mulholland from the past five years when using this criteria:

  • Emanate (100/1)
  • Viking Ruby (16/1)
  • The Turtle Said (16/1)

Neil Mulholland has shown a profit in four of the five seasons under this criterion, with only 2024 showing a small loss.

This one is not going to fire out a lot of runners, as you can see from previous seasons, we are targeting 2-3 winners during the month, which in previous years have gone in at decent odds.

Here are the top three winners from George Baker from the past five years when using this criteria:

  • Kiwano (66/)
  • Destiny Queen (28/1)
  • Awesome Dancer (28/1)

Four winners for George Baker last season under these conditions returned an LSP of +58.13 from 19 runners, that was his fourth profitable July from the last five.

The only year he failed was in 2023 when all four of his runners failed to win, in fairness two of those did go off at 14/1 & 33/1.

Here are the top three winners from Daniel Kubler from the past five years when using this criteria:

  • Distinct Spirit (22/1)
  • Shamrock Bay (18/1)
  • Lovers Gait (16/1)

Last year was a bumper year for Daniel Kubler using these filters, 10 winners from just 17 runners, a strike rate of 59% and an LSP of +62.25.

He also showed a profit in 3 of the previous 4 years although the winner numbers were nothing like 2024, lets hope he can replicate that this year.
