The Jockey Club Cup takes place at Sha Tin Racecourse in November of each year. The race is a Group 2 that is open to runners aged three or older and is run over a distance of one mile and two furlongs (2,000m).

The race serves as a trial for the Group 1 Hong Kong Cup, which takes place a month later, and it is run on the same day as two other Group 2 races, the Jockey Club Mile and the Jockey Club Sprint.
