How competitive is the Australian Guineas market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 10 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2021, when the race had an over-round of 112%. The race in 2024 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 120%, whilst on average over the last 10 renewals of the Australian Guineas, the over-round has been 117%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £117 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2027 Australian Guineas Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Australian Guineas Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Australian Guineas races over the last 10 renewals:

  1. Hey Doc (1:34.01) in 2017
  2. Alligator Blood (1:34.92) in 2020
  3. Grunt (1:34.99) in 2018

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 10 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Australian Guineas next time out, then you would have backed a total of 2 winners. Backing all 9 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -2.10. Before placing your bet on the 2027 Australian Guineas, see which other runners today are being backed on the racing predictions page.

The runner that holds the record over the past 10 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2022 renewal when Hitotsu from Ciaron Maher & David Eustace under the guidance of John Allen, won in a time of 1:36.83, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Hey Doc, trained by Tony McEvoy and ridden by Luke Currie set the quickest time of 1:34.01 in the 2017 renewal.

What the expert says...
