Paul Merson is now evens favourite to leave Strictly Come Dancing this week
Strictly Come Dancing continues this week with former footballer Paul Merson the favourite with UK Betting Sites to leave the show after he was given a tough dance this weekend.
Merson will dance a Samba this Saturday to Car Wash by Rose Royce and the dance is notorious for eliminations on Strictly with more than 20% of all eliminations across the last 6 years coming at the hands of a Samba (according to research from William Hill).
Despite impressing viewers last week and finishing outside of the bottom two, the competition is looking extremely tough now with Merson now as short as 10/11 to be eliminated from the show.
Bet365's latest betting market puts Merson as the odds-on favourite to leave the show with the latest odds suggesting a 52.4% chance of him being voted off by the judges.
The betting market expects that he'll be against Punam Krishan in the dance-off this weekend with the doctor sitting as the 15/4 second favourite in the odds list.
Strictly Come Dancing: Next Elimination | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Paul Merson | 10/11 | 52.4% |
Punam Krishan | 15/4 | 21.1% |
Wynne Evans | 9/2 | 18.2% |
Shayne Ward | 11/1 | 8.3% |
Sam Quek | 11/1 | 8.3% |
What the expert says...
Chris McCausland remains top of the market to win this year's Strictly
Comedian Chris McCausland still sits as the betting favourite to win this year's Strictly Come Dancing with bookmakers shortening his odds even further this week.
McCausland is Strictly's first ever blind contestant but despite this he's danced magnificently so far impressing viewers and judges alike.
The Liverpudlian has been backed into 4/7 to win the show after previously being 16/1 at the start of the series and he's now given an implied probability of 63.6% to lift the famous Glitterball trophy this year.
