Andy Burnham is the 4/1 favourite to be the next Labour Leader despite current ineligibility
The current Labour mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, is the 4/1 favourite with bookmakers to be the next Labour Party Leader with betting available for the role.
As things stand though Burnham is ineligible to stand for the role because he is not a member of parliament due to his current job as the mayor of Greater Manchester.
Reports from The Guardian towards the end of May highlighted this as a cause for concern, but it may be the Burnham is fast-tracked into an MP role in Camberwell and Peckham.
The latest betting odds from Paddy Power now suggest that there's a 20% chance that Burnham is voted next Labour Leader after Keir Starmer, whenever that may be/

Former favourite Rachel Reeves drifts slightly to 11/2 in the betting
Current Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves is now 11/2 in the market to be the next Labour Leader with her odds drifting slightly in the past month from the favourite position she was at.
Reeves would become the first female leader of the party with the Conservatives, Lib Dems, Green Party, SNP and Plaid Cymru all having female leaders in the past unlike the Labour Party.
The latest odds drift though suggests that this may not be the case with her probability now sitting at 15% according to the current betting market.

Next Labour Leader Betting Odds
Odds also given on the next Labour candidate in Islington North to replace Jeremy Corbyn
The Labour national executive committee voted to block Jeremy Corbyn from standing as a Labour candidate at the next election in a vote back in March.
Recent reports from The Times suggested that Corbyn will run himself against Labour as an independent in the Islington North area where he has been the MP since 1983.
Mary Creagh remains the favourite in the betting market to be the next Labour candidate for Islington North with Smarkets keeping her as evens in the betting.
Creagh lost her Wakefield seat in the 2019 election with the Tories going after Labour's Red Wall and she may well be the woman who replaces Corbyn for the party.
